Glad you like it.
I used both original holes in the knife and one original hole
in the clip, only had to drill one hole in the clip, very easy mod.

Cheers.

Thanks a lot Jazz, I have to agree with you, the clip it comes
with is just all wrong in my view.
Looks like a real spydie now.
Pockets, feels great in the hand, no more sharp point.
Best thing is I can clip it with one hand, the other clip worked
awkwardly.
Cheers.

@huckabee, it's just a standard Spyderco hour glass shaped
Clip ground a bit.
It may not look the prettiest but I found the original clip didn't
Work that well for me.
The new clip allows the knife to clip in to my pocket with ease.

New clip 'n' tip for southard...

Geeez I love this knife, couple of things did bug me though.
Didn't like the clip, and ground off about an eighth of an inch off the tip for a slightly different shape.
Just thought I would share. :)

Mine does the same, I live with it for now but may buy another one later and give this one to a friend.
I did give mine a light sand on the 2 lock faces (vertically) with some fine sand paper and it helped a bit but still moves.
I can't disengage mine with my hands though.
Here's a video of mine ...

Great knife test.
Aotea is pure paradise! Lived there about 5 years ago for about 4 years.
Used to fish in front of that property a lot.
Cheers.

The knife came with the pivot at the perfect tension, I tightened it just a touch to try and eliminate the slop but no luck.
@ w3tnz, mine was exactly the same, lock bar stuck to the tang but within about 5 flicks the stickiness was gone.(always good to see a fellow Kiwi here too :) )

I'm right handed to and find I can flick open the Techno with my left hand middle finger easier that with my right thumb.
Closing it with left hand is no trouble either.

I looked at the policy for returning items where I bought it from...

"Defective items will need to be sent back to the manufacturer for service. ******* Knives, will not act on either parties behalf, but will answer any and all questions honestly and accurately as possible."

I suppose I'll send it ...

Is it really that simple? I send in this knife and they send me a new one?

Hi, yeah have tried cleaning it, with alcohol.
I sent the link to the video to Charlynn at Spyderco warranty, she said a small amount of movement is normal but mine looks to be a little
more than normal, of course she can't determine if its a warranty issue without seeing it though, which is ...

Thanks people, there are no contaminants on the lock faces.

Should the whole lock faces be touching from top to bottom?

Mine has a very small contact point.

I'll contact Spyderco about it an see what they reckon.

Thanks again.

Hey thanks for the reply, there is some blade play up and down due to the lock bar moving, but barely perceivable and only when I'm trying to move it, not when I'm holding the knife tightly. It doesn't bother me.
The gripe I have is the wire pocket clip, the back corner of it really digs in badly ...

Techno lock up not so solid?

Hi, have had the Techno for a week or so now and really loving it.
I have noticed that if I apply pressure with my hands (as if I was trying to close it without disengaging the lock bar) the lock bar moves out about a millimeter or slightly less, then when I take pressure off it moves back in.
This ...
