I am seriously considering moving to New Hampshire at some point, to enjoy and participate in the free state project. It is unfortunate they have almost no control of the federal beast.

You also won't go wrong with a tenacious for a starter. As an introduction to Spyderco in the medium-to-large EDC range, you just cannot beat the tenacious, imo. Can be had for $30 online, and you get to experience a full flat ground leaf-type blade and textured G10 scales -- what says "Spyder...

Steel: Pretty much any sufficiently high-end steel. I value the ease of sharpening and keen edge of VG-10 as much as the added edge holding of the more expensive exotics. Grind: Full flat grind. Blade shape: Leaf. Lock: Ball bearing. This one is not even close, in my book. I've never encountered any...

It's certainly possible that they could have an effect and I am not sure if the average American traveler is more squeamish than others but full body scanners have been up and running in a few international airports and they seem to be accepted without any problems. At Domodedovo (Moscow) everyone ...

My XHP Manix 2 is on course to be, after it gets some harder use. It is my favorite design and construction EDC knife ever, but I haven't really challenged it enough to bestow the title just yet.

There must be some binding going on -- hopefully it will loosen up quickly for you. I just got mine about a week ago, and I honestly could not be happier with the lock, and the knife in general -- it is quite simply the best carry knife I've ever had, including custom. I also suggest an alternative ...

I have had to weigh up legal costs (non-refundable unfortunately) on a Spyderco Spyker a few years ago. Its action was way too smooth for Customs and they mis-classified it as a flick knife. The costs incurred to go fight it in court and costs to take time off work and the hassle of paperwork was t...

I personally made a conscious decision to get the Green over the Blue. I'm sure I would have been happy with the blue, but I really love the green on this knife, and I also view the steel as a bonus (though I personally can't tell the difference yet).

Good news on that! Let's hope other Spydie lovers will fare well.... Ach -- I spoke too soon! The post office was holding a letter from the customs office which I had to sign for, not the GB! So yes, it's been seized, and the seizure notice is basically designed to scare you away from making a clai...

Another update: I was getting very worried about my Gayle Bradley, it having spent nearly two weeks in customs (the Manix 2 came right through after it was checked) -- I had pretty much written it off as a "for sure" loss. But today, I got the slip of paper -- I can pick it up at the post ...

Update. Got my green XHP Manix 2 today (awesome knife btw)! It was molested by customs, but whatever arbitrary rules are currently in place apparently were not enough to have this one sent back or destroyed. It came through Brisbane, if that makes any difference.

Sorry I did not see this question earlier. Yes I am still really happy with my Pacific Salt. I really like serrations on H1 but my Rock Salt works really well and it is PE. Congrats. I've wanted a Cricket since the late 1990's, but for some reason have never been in the right place at the right time to take the plunge. Anyway, good luck with customs -- I'm in the same boat and currently on pins and needles hoping my first shipment to Australia is not turned away by cru...

I just placed a couple orders a few days ago -- a Manix 2 from Canada and a GB from the US (from spydieguys, actually). First time I've actually ordered from Australia, as I'm a US citizen. I figured there couldn't possibly be any problem, since I've seen some Spydercos for sale at the local mall, a...

I do not want merge data from different testers. Any data will be very valuable. It does not really matter was it tested exactly same way or not. Spyderco as a company today sort of makes me think of how Colt firearms co. must have been in their glory days prior to WW2. World-class innovation, quality, and value that just get better and better year after year.
