Hello fellow Danes, Sal showed me a very early DK legal prototype at Blade 2011 and it sounds like its going forward. The prototype had a G10 blade and no back spring or anything, so was a very rough conceptual design, but had very nice lines and what looked like a 2mm hole in the blade instead of t...

After the soap/water use a moisture displacer, like WD-40 and finish up with something like tuffglide or mineral oil (if you use it for food). Spend a little time working the lube into the pivot.

I agree, time to take a break for at least a few months, then establish an EDC rotation with what you've got and see which fit you the best. Then report back here :)

H1 is supposed to be chemically impervious to corrosion from salt. Metal other than the blade may or may not rust a little. I would worry more about losing it, getting salt/sand/mud in the pivot, etc. Just rinse it out with clear water and you should be fine. The Dragonfly Salt is a great little kni...

I'm so happy that you decided on the PPT (and that its getting the love it deserves in this thread from various people), the reason I said to go out on a limb was because its Taiwan produced and if I am not mistaken you wanted Golden and Japan made knives in your original post. As it happens I tend ...

I just learned this too, very surprising.. The kid drowns by accident and you don't call the authorities and instead dump the body. Definitely not something an innocent person would do. WTH.

I'm guessing that the opposite is true ... the public purse has never been under so much pressure and any publicly-funded research body is probably laying off staff in a desperate bid to stay afloat. Power still lies with the oil companies and I'd bet that it would be far easier to get money for tr...

May I inquire when the last time you read a peer reviewed scientific journal article on the subject? The fact is the vast majority of scientists do agree on this subject. Not recently, I admit. However I do know that a lot of scientists walked out on the UN sponsored paper on the subject that won a...

Sadly there is not overwhelming majority on this issue, scientific or otherwise. We don't understand climate science well enough to predict the weather reliably a week from now, let alone what factors have how much of an impact on global climate. We can see that its changing, but we have no evidence...

The smoothest Slipit I've had was the T-Mag but I haven't had many non-lock knives. The problem is the detent and lock of the magnet was marginal at best. Preferable the Slipits should be almost 2-hand operation to get past those picky customs folks. I got to handle a very early prototype of a new ...

Go out on a limb and get a PPT.

Then get the Para and Military, both are must haves. Delica and Endura as well. Modern classic is the UKPK.

Get something like the Street Beat and carry it in your pocket, if its too big, go for something smaller like the Swick. Obviously you've used knives for a long time and have good experience using them hard, but have you thought about getting a fixed blade? Sounds like a lot of those chores would be more suited to that rather than a folder.

Spyderco have some really nice ones, like the Bill Moran drop point.
