Re: Chaparral Slipit?
I don't have any law restrictions that require non locking and I really hate using classic slipjoints. I do however really love Spydercos ingenious take on the concept. I think the UKPK, Urban, and Sqeak are all fantastic so I'll welcome the slip chap into the mix. I do agree though it'd be nice to ...

Re: Titanium Tenacious
I thought this was a completely out of touch idea when I figured it would probably be around $75 to compete with some of Ontario and other brands budget steel/titanium handle knives. I can't imagine with a price of $130 retail no one said "this isn't going to end well." The reveal had so m...

Re: Reveal 15 - Live!
I know some have had the sentiment that some reveals haven't been as cool and exciting lately but no one can be disappointed with this reveal. Sprints of interesting steels, pushing Spy27 into the limelight with so many more models, a mule that may hint at the next step forward for the Seki knives. ...

Re: Purchase spyderco on Amazon
Benvenuto nel forum! I've bought 3 or 4 Enduras shipped and sold from Amazon and never had an issue with them being fake, but I'm in the U.S. I have come across a few fakes of various models. On the Seki models the handles are the dead give away. Spyderco FRN molds will leave sharp edges and well de...

Re: My thoughts on the Native Chief LW
Thanks for taking the time for a detailed write up. I've long been wondering if this knife would replace the Endura for me, but have yet to pull the trigger. I really prefer BD1N to vg10, and I do prefer the Native 5 LW to the Delica. Judging by your first photo it looks like the choil serves the sa...

Re: Help choosing gift
In before this devoles into a list of every Spyderco in the catalog. I'll echo WilliamMunny and say the Manix 2 LW is a great edc knife, it's stout, light, big enough for outdoor tasks and small enough to carry everyday. It has a very strong lock that's also interesting and fun. If you're used to ol...

Re: Lil Native slicing
If you're buying the Lil Native with the idea it will slice through thick or stiff cardboard like a UKPK or ffg Delica I think you might be disappointed. It can have that wedge feeling on some materials where you feel like you're pushing the knife through instead of it cutting through. The Lil Nativ...

Re: Salt Dreams
Really want to see an Unsalted Caribbean. Let the knife get the s90v/carbon treatment. The Siren got an Unsalted sprint and the Caribbean deserves to have an edge retention super steel. Typecasting the Caribbean as a purely salt knife and not letting it compete head to head with the pm2 is a real sh...

Re: Native 5 LW Weirdness (or not?)
Just out of curiosity is your knife dlc coated? My dlc s30v version had this exact issue, my s110v version came out of the box silky smooth. My solution was to artificially break it in. I took a fine metal file and removed some of the scale material, on both scales, that was making contact with the ...

Do I think it would sell well enough to justify beyond a sprint, no. Do I absolutely want that big beautiful knife in serrated CruWear, YES.

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?
^This x2. Criminally underrated knife in the line up. I don't even need the salt rated aspect of it. I'd still fanboy for the design if it was just S30v and black g10.

Re: An ongoing mystery: Why still no ffg Manix 2 SE? (NOT meant as a complaint)
I know I've said it in a different thread and that it would need to wait for the golden expansion to be finished, but I'd like to see the Manix LW become a showcase for different steels in serrated form through sprint runs. The LW is more affordable and has become a popular model. The frcp handle sh...

Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?
I didn't have any issues taking them apart. Both knives had a thick white-ish loctite that resembled dried toothpaste but it didn't require a soldering iron or anything to remove the screws, they came out easily. The threaded standoffs or barrels running along the back of the handle were the problem...

Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?
I really lost my appreciation for the tenacious family after I tried to take both an 8cr and a s35vn model apart. After 3 hours of searching, reading, attempting, neither went back together. Taken dozens and dozens of knives, cheap and expensive, apart and never had an issue. The M4 Tenacious was wh...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
https://i.postimg.cc/BnCZ0PWk/IMG-3432.jpg Would there be less distinction between the FRN D'fly and the Lil' Native LW? I think this would tighten up the choice due to the variety of steels offered on the Dfly. I prefer my comp lock Lil Natives to my Dfly's, not for the lock but just for ergos. Th...

Re: MANIX NAME
Are we just going to gloss over the the fact that that the Mannix TV show was on 30 years before the C95 Manix happened? I mean if you were a poor kid in the 90s reruns of Gilligan's Island, Flipper, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days etc were what was on the channels you had so I could believe Mannix sti...

Re: EDC Hygiene: Fixed Blade VS. Folder
Honestly as someone with a below average immune system Im interested in this answer. I've always been left scratching my head when someone lists food prep as one of their factors for liking or carrying an edc knife design, especially a folder. I just can't wrap my head around the idea of having a kn...
