Re: What Type of Scales Do You Prefer Poll

Tough poll. I had to put FRN and Other. I have a FRN in my pocket 75% of the time and Micarta 25% of the time. I'm also really liking Tero Tuf scales.

I wonder if the scrubbing with BKF is enough to prevent it from happening again.

Re: Need some input

I asked my ex-girlfriend and she asked me to stop calling her that. Ever since we got married 15 years ago, she prefers to be called my wife.
Anyways, she said that a Forrest Green and Mint Green in the same hue pallet would be nice. It doesn't assume gender preference, and keeping both in the same ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion?

Not trying to be a Spyderco apologist, just out of curiosity. Where the corrosion is present on the blade, is that the part of the edge that was used to open the food and the instant coffee?

Yeah it is. They're those small packets of instant coffee. I fold the pack over the blade to cut them ...

MagnaCut Corrosion?

I know MC isn't rust-proof. I don't expect it to be. I am surprised that my MC native shows surface corrosion as easy as VG-10. Easy enough to clean off so no big deal
I spent the weekend backpacking. No rain. The only thing the knife was used for was to open a couple freeze dried meals and two ...

It's fun replying to myself after 20ish months. My list hasn't changed much. What has changed/developed is how I choose steels to match my activity. Stainless for anything in the woods, on ...

I'll be honest. It's not often people come back to the forums and apologize in a civil way. Normally folks just rant and when the forum reacts in defense of the company, the original poster just ...

Re: What to use to protect tool steel blades

I have found that I use a couple. If the knife might be in contact with food, I use beeswax. For knives that are going into storage for a long time, they get Eezox. When they come out of storage, they either get another eezox treatment or i strip the eezox and use a beeswax.

I do have a couple ...

Re: Native 5 - Back Lock Quality Issues

I am a Spyderco back lock veteran. This is not a tight lock that loosening up will help.

I received a new Spyderco Native 5 15v today from a reputable seller. The knife has the grittiest lock I have ever seen. The grit is both felt and heard.

This is the most expensive knife I have ever bought ...

Re: Spyderco service really this bad

I did not strip the screw. They did. I understand that mechanical abilities vary by person. But that ain't it. Sorry to offend the fans. I would have drilled it out myself and retapped it but didn't want to void the warranty which I now know is worthless

In reading this thread, you've received ...

Re: Is H2 on life support or alive and well?

From what I've seen, H2 is alive and well! I've seen posts here and on other forums where divers, including some guy who is a saturation diver, who swear by the stuff. Anecdotally, I see H1/2 anytime someone talks about hard work on or around water. I'm sure that for a lot of those situations, LC ...

I believe they purposely do not stock their most popular production models so that veterans cannot benefit from the discount.

I do. I like being able to change the spool with a button push.
