Blue G10 Lil native with Spy27 - amazing, can’t wait!
The perfect little work knife to alternate between my Rex45 Lil Native when the rain is falling. 👍

Re: Chaparral Slipit?

A legend in the making I predict the slip chap will be. Please don’t screw it up with a tuning fork back spring. Give it a solid spring and make it firm with a snappy “talk”.

Re: Titanium Tenacious

Spyderco what were you thinking putting 8CR on this knife??? don’t need a crystal ball to see this is going to be absolute sales disaster. Should’ve gone for S35VN or M4 … even wood like on the woodkit dragonfly anything but the dreaded 8CRMov13crlgbtq+ Spyderco, please don’t do it! :zany :grin-squint

Re: Chaparral Slipit?

Spyderco coming out with the slipit Chaparral nullifies the Metropolitan and the Chaparral is made in a better factory. I like Taichung knives, while Italy is hit and miss for me. This exactly, my interest in any upcoming slipjoints from Maniago was near zero anyway, but now… a slipit Chap has the ...

Re: Sage 5 in REX 121 + burnt orange

The Spy27 version definitely on the must have list but I do have reservations about the Rex121 - it’s probably not going to be the steel for me. More of a collectors piece than a user? I don’t know but it’s still great that Spyderco has given us the option though.

Re: Ways to "Thief Proof" cars?

Learn to drive a vehicle that has a manual transmission (I believe you folks call it stick shift?). It won’t stop the buggers getting in but will likely stop them taking off in it. Don’t advertise your belongings in your vehicle, hide it or take them out when unattended. A thin sheet of glass is the...

Re: Lil Native slicing

Ive found my Lil native slices fine, more than adequate, just not laser-beam-like like an Opinel or Chaparral but still impressive compared to most. I’ve found the outright sliciness doesn’t really distract from how great a knife is though - I think it’s one of Spyderco’s unsung greats that punches ...

Re: Tell Me About The Serrated Z-Cuts

You are better off with a Kitchen Devil. I use the 12cm blade small cooks knife when my z cut broke - It’s about 1mm stock but has a deep blade to help keep rigidity and for knuckle clearance, the edge last well enough and resists chipping unlike the z cut did. It also has a fuller, more comfortable...

Re: Help choosing gift

Native 5 in Spy27.
Low maintenance, unimposing, easy to carry and a Great introduction knife and steel into the Spyderco line up.

Coincidently this is the exact same knife I’m giving to my Dad for Father’s Day this year.

Re: Tell Me About The Serrated Z-Cuts

I’m confident that if Spyderco left out the Spydiehole in this instance, I’d still have fully-functioning, one-piece z-cut instead of a yellow handle and a beautifully slicey blade that parted company. I believe there is a folder with 1mm blade stock and a larger Spydiehole in the works (can’t remem...

Re: Tell Me About The Serrated Z-Cuts

They are great for cutting light fruit and veg but will break at the Spydiehole with a hint of anything approaching heavier duty, like say a potato.

I know because I broke one …at the Spydiehole …cutting a potato.

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll

Thanks for the information. It is really a shame. People who voted for no should think a little about how to behave. For me, as a Spyderco lover, it is really hard to deal with. I wish we in Europe will get better chance to grab sprints/dealer exclusives. But I think that will NOT happen... Yes, it...

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

HH UKPK drop point - the ultimate version of the UKPK in my opinion. In fact I think this version is how the base UKPK should be and not have to rely on the Heinnie Haynes shop putting in a special order for limited quantities. To go back to the cheap-feeling, chintzy FRN version after this one ain’...

Been carrying my Lil native in rex45 a lot lately. Cracking knife, brilliant steel. Dare I say I may even prefer it to my beloved Chaparral. :exploding-head But what happened to the jimping? The jimping fairies no visit this knife, why? Could the boys at Golden please add jimping to the CQI version.

I’ve just had delivered a Peltonen M23 cub, that’s the same overall size a the Stok. Comfortable full size handle, incredibly sharp 2.5 inch cutting edge out of 80crv2 @ a stated 62 HRC. Looks like it could do some work no trouble. Well fitting kydex sheath too, I believe there’s a leather option th...

Small fixed blades are my favourite type of knife, Spyderco are my favourite knife maker…

…Yet The Stok has absolutely zero interest to me whatsoever. Even the price point isn’t appealing. It’s a big no thanks from me.

Lil native: Brilliant little knife, beautiful action but Why the lack of jimping on this model?

It’s like Spyderco made the perfect burger but forgot to add the special sauce.

Re: 52100 Native Chief?

Comes down to cost:

If the price to produce a blade in 52100 can be passed onto the customer, then yes, a cheaper Native Chief in this steel would be good and something that I would consider purchasing.
