A well executed High-hollow grind on a blade is the best at separating one thing from another thing.
Scandi best on wood.
Full Flat best for profit margins.
A thick behind the edge sabre is best for warranty.
Convex is best on axe.

Re: Prices OMG Seriously?
I was initially amazed by the upcoming models in Reveal 20, and then disappointed followed upon seeing some of the prices. I know Rex 121 is difficult to manufacture into a blade, but that’s high.
If the prices are a bit much for folks, then I suggest 2026 could be the year people where people ...

Re: Reveal 20 - Live!
The Charisma will be a day one purchase when it hits these shores. It’s just the kind of knife I’ve been eagerly waiting for from Spyderco.
The Rex Chap and black U.K. also make a strong cases for themselves, but it’s mainly all about the Charisma for me.
Does anyone know where a definitive price ...

Best reveal ever!
G10 Chap in Rex 121, G10 mag UKPK, 15V lil native LW and finally The Charisma! Nice job Spyderco.
…performance orientated knives are finally becoming a thing it seems - lots of <2.5mm stock to see here.

Re: Price increases this year?
With greater prices comes greater contemplation over whether or not a new Spyderco will add anything meaningful to my collection.
I think I’m good for Spyderco’s until something unique like the upcoming Charisma or Chap XL shows up.

Re: Should Spyderco make this knife?
It was essentially a disposable item and never intended to be a premium piece of field kit, so I think a modern interpretation should reflect that. If Spyderco could sell them comfortably south of $20 then they’d do well. More than that and you’ll start competing with proper cutting tools.

Re: Anyone else hoping for more steels/colors in the Lil Native LW?
I already own and use a (Rex45) G10 lil Native and an FRN Chaparral, I’m still looking forward to one of these in Magnacut or even Spy27 as we are unlikely to ever see an upgraded steel for the Chaparral.

Re: Another thread for discussing a Chaparral XL - now that it came one step closer to becoming a reality
I’d love a thin line geared purely for cutting performance, but then I only use my folding knives for cutting plant material, wood and cardboard etc. No prying or (intended) impacts on the edge.
Imagine a 2mm Lil Temperance? 😍

A Native 5 plain edge in Magnacut. Chap XL aside, this is all I want.

Knife came to you damaged and with blade play - send it back for a replacement or refund. Job done.

Re: Another thread for discussing a Chaparral XL - now that it came one step closer to becoming a reality
I’d much prefer it to retain the 2mm stock.
2.5mm would still allow for a geometry similar to that of the UKPK or Delica but on a 3.5” blade, however its exceptional cutting ability the Chaparral is renowned for would be diminished - Still good but not definitively good.

I’m 100% over compression locks with small blades after my Lil native opened in my pocket and gave me a love bite.
Save yourself even more money (and the stitches) and get yourself The lil native lightweight - I hear it’s better than both the lil native and the Microjimbo.

Re: Native 5 - Back Lock Quality Issues
Out of the 20 or so Golden models I’ve owned over the 15 years of collecting Spydercos, only an early BD1N PM3 LW had an issue: blade not being centered.
There were a couple of unpleasing grinds here and there but generally I do think the QC at golden is excellent. Maniago and Seki QC have slipped ...

Thanks for the write up and the comparison pics.
I knew it was small from the spec sheet, but wow this thing is absolutely microscopic when compared to the other small knives in the line up.
They are £228 here or $297 US. That works out as $243.44 per inch of cutting edge. I know Spyderco has ...

Re: Sal, how far behind is the hp Delica project ?
Theres a thin-stoked, hollow grind, VG10, Seki made, back lock already available it’s called the Centofante. I believe it’s been updated with screws now too. Not the same I know, but similar.
Speaking of which, will the grind be similar geometry to that of the Centofante, or is it intended to have ...

Re: Victorinox New Range
Just more catch points and areas to introduce dirt, grit and crud into the workings.
The only thing I’ve ever needed Victorinox to do is upgrade the main blade steel so it isn’t blunt after a single use.
