I own a native chief, native g10, and as of a few days ago, a lil native. Looking at all three side by, I can see a definite size gap that needs to be filled. Maybe "Native L"? Maybe ba 3.25-3.5" blade? Sounds perfect.

Metal on metal will always wear, it's just a matter of how long it takes. The quality of steel used by Spyderco means your grandchildren probably won't have to worry about it.
