Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Thanks for the good info, Shawn. It makes perfect sense. I should have never chose a Manix 2 with its very thin factory edge. I dabbled in freehand sharpening and love convex edges, but I could just never form that bur well enough to get the sharpness I wanted. I moved to a KME sharpener a few month...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
I don't plan on sending the knife in for maintenance. I can put a new bevel on it myself. It was my doing and honestly I should have known better, but I had never really experienced working with S110V and didn't know how "chippy" it was. now I know and will be changing knives for this purp...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Am I going to run into the same problem with S90V and chipping? I haven't used enough of it, besides on my Drunken I carry, to notice any chipping.
I have a Shaman in S30V and am really wondering if that's the way to go here.

Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
I kinda built this Manix 2 for a hunting knife option to use in the field gutting and dressing game, especially deer. Well I finally got to use it when gutting a doe this morning. The blade zipped through the flesh with ease, but when it came time to cut thru the sternum we had a problem. I could he...

Re: Field dressed entire elk with PMA11 Mule! (graphic)
Well done! I was in Colorado on an elk hunt in September with bow. I had my 15V mule all ready to go, but my hunting group ate tag soup. It was a rough 2 weeks.

Sorry, I like to collect some things in mint condition and have many users. Like I said, I’m not sure what attracted me to this set.

Heinnie Haynes complete set…I think?
I finally was able to acquire the last leg, I believe, of the Spyderco UKPK/Urban Heinnie Haynes exclusive knives. I think this is the complete set but am unsure if they made a UKPK LW version. I can’t seem to find any info regarding this one. I think this is the set, though. All are BNIB. I’m not s...

I’m really loving these new Halpern Titanium Ultem scales. They look beautiful and provide plenty of grip. I’d buy some if I were you.

Re: Stok
I have the Stok drop point version. I love the blade shape. I got it right after mushroom season, but that's what I got it for. Its the perfect size to lop mushrooms off the stem in the woods. I have not used it much as of yet but I do get it out and admire it occasionally.

Re: I'm in love with Ultem...
I think you all are underestimating the strength of this material. I put in all screws without cracking anything. I dont see these scales getting banged up or cracked like you all fear. Its strong, tough, stuff. If had them installed for moths with fairly heavy use and they are still flawless with ...

Well they're just about to release an M4 version with tan G10 scales any day now. I personally love the tenacious, especially for the price. It was my first Spyderco.
