Re: What you don't like about spyderco knives?

1. Lanyard tubes so big that it compromises other design aspects, like pocket clip placement. I really wish they'd CQI the Para 2 and 3 to include the wire pocket clip on the G10 models. I'd buy several G10 Para 3s if they did, and never carry another sub-3" folder for the rest of my days. I'm ...

Re: Overlooked, Obscure Models Deserving Of A Sprint Run?

Lava I had originally typed up my post for the Lava, but gave up because it is so obscure. I'd love a lava with dark grey G10 and any stainless steel. It's the smallest tiny knife I've ever been able to get a full/secure grip on. Catcherman. It's both longer and lighter than a standard Pacific Salt...

Re: Overlooked, Obscure Models Deserving Of A Sprint Run?

I would love a Street Bowie with micarta or carbon fiber handle inserts. The squishy rubber inserts in the handle grab clothing enough that it causes printing, instead of sliding over a harder material.

Re: RIT dyeing Salts

I dyed my yellow UKPK Salt black. I did disassemble it. It turned out well, but didn't wear well. The yellow is just too bright, you can really see it on the corners after a short time in the pocket. If I could go back, I'd have left it alone.

Re: Spyderco should make more calys.

I would buy any new Caly or Caly 3.5, LW or G10, so long as it had flat hardware. The giant sized domed pivot really bothers me for some reason.

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

Leave aside all our wishes, wants, and dreams for the Military2, consider that Eric just told Knife Center at Blade that the Military Model used “old systems, outdated processes” (read slower and costlier production). What’s the bigger need? Our wants or Spyderco’s needs? Make no mistake. Spyderco ...

Re: Atlanta Blade Show

I got to handle the Bodacious, when they release it I believe I will finally be retiring my Military models for good. It was as confidence inspiring as the Shaman, but without the choil and was far thinner in both blade and handle thickness. It looks like it will carry very flat in the pocket. If th...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

The problem with the Military 1 is "satisfaction is the death of desire". If you actually manage to make something perfect, even subjectively so to those who believe it is indeed perfect, they no longer need to buy it because they already have it and it's perfect so why would I need more?...

Re: 4” Folder Recs

I prefer the Military for the following reasons: - Negative blade angle - it slashes like a recurve - Best liner lock, ever - growing up in the liner lock era, when everything was a liner lock it seemed, the Military's lock thwacks open with the confidence most get from a frame lock - Properly desig...

Re: Yojimbo 2 tip strength for EDC

When I use my knives I occasionally drop them. When I dropped my current EDC serrated UKPK it landed on the 'edge' and one of the teeth snapped off. I've owned a half dozen or so Yojimbo 2s since they came out and I broke the tip off of 3 of them, two were dropped on the floor and 1 bumped (hard) in...

Re: subway bowie!

Love my subway Bowie knife but my sheath cracked on the spine already just from normal use for a couple weeks, now I apparently have to pay to send the whole knife from Canada and pay to return ( and I’m a P.O. Box which it says they don’t ship to ). I think for that cost I’ll just make a better ky...

Re: Swick 5 ETA?

Just got my 5 PE in. Sheath retention feels more tactile and overall feels much closer in handling to the 5. I haven't seen any of the catching or wear I noticed with the 6SE. I think the chisel edge on the SE models is just more prone to catching on the interior of the sheath. I just got my Plain ...

Swick 5 Trainer

Can we please get a trainer for the Swick 5?

It sits a little deep in the waistband to be drawing over and over again without something exciting happening by accident.

That is all, thanks :ninja

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking

I'd like to expand on my original recommendation (UKPK) by adding the Enuff 2. My wife has one and it's surprisingly light for it's blade length. It also cuts like a laser thanks to the thin stock and broad flat grind and carries efficiently because it is so light and thin.

Re: Military 2 (PRE-ORDER) posted on KnifeCenter $196

I have had my preorder in for a while now and whenever it hits is fine by me, no hurry. For those knocking S30V or bored with it you probably are not sharpening it correctly to it's full potential, it took me years to figure it out and now it is what I carry every day. S30V PM2 DLC Wharncliffe to b...

Re: Who needs a lanyard hole?

I have no use for lanyards on folders. Same. Its a useful option to have and there is no downside to having one. The downside is that it often restricts the location of the pocket clip. The Para series carries poorly because the pocket clip is offset and lower than it must be due to the giant hole ...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking

I look forward to getting my hands on a MC UKPK and hopefully a SXL Salt. I think they can give the Salt and Pac Salt, respectively, a run for their money. I was going to recommend a UKPK. I have a serrated Salt version and I learned that I don't need a lock for 99.99% of knife chores. I can't thin...

I'd love to hear this. I bought some FC off of Amazon a while back, and haven't gotten around to using it because I couldn't find any knife-clip-specific instructions.

Awesome, thanks for keeping up on this guys.

I've loved my serrated Swick 5 but I'm really looking forward to the plain edge given this knife's mission.
