^ Looks like a Delica to me

There's a link to old catalogs on this site...

Thank you, this is perfect! And it was definitely bigger than a Delica, maybe an Endura?

Discontinued Product Archives?

My first actual Spyderco was sometime around 1994-96. It was black FRN, I want to say full SE, stainless blade, stainless wire clip. It was about 3" or thereabouts, and the blade shape was similar to the PM2. It was also a lockback, but I don't think the lock release had the signature notch in ...

When will the 2023 list be out?
It looks like the OP is very precise about these things. This list was posted Sat Jan 01, 2022 12:01 am. LOL

I think if it's going to happen again, it'll probably be on Sunday, Jan 01, 2023 at 12:01 am.

Re: Options for a plain, simple, boring, old timer like me.

I ended up buying a Sharpmaker. If nothing else I'll clean up my son's PE Delica and my Delica gen3. H1 and S30V interest me but I just can't pull the trigger on either yet. I think at some point I might have to get them just to have experience with both while seeing how the Magnacut performs with ...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

you said, "nothing good ever comes out of that dump of a country." countries are made up of people. so, even if you only meant to disparage products, 1. you didn't, and 2. you're wrong. lots of great quality products come from china. whatever we think about that politically is going to be...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

you know there are people there right? people that have nothing to do with the politics of the place they were born? people that are just trying to survive and provide a life for their families like everyone else in the world? When did I mention people? Is china selling people now too? You know I w...

How about some fishing scissors in LC200N?
I have the Gerber Neat Freak Saltwater Fishing Scissors on my boat in a ziplock bag but they are still rusting.

Re: Make salt/marine series even better

Maybe it's just me, but I rather like that Spyderco never fully entered the multitool market. I always carry a Spyderco knife proper in one pocket, and my Leatherman Surge in another. They are two very, very different tools. Sure, the Leatherman has a knife but when I need a knife, I reach for my Sp...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

https://youtu.be/MUGYfVySi5A Great video! Nobody is arguing the toughness of the ceramic bearing. But I still don't see the point of upgrading to one. The steel bearing Spyderco uses in the context of being used as a locking mechanism, will never fail. The weight factor is fractional and can't be f...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

I’m really derailing this thread… LOL I think that's already happened long ago! What do you use to polish the copper scales? Brasso, of course! Is the stock bearing carbon steel or stainless? I honestly don't know, but I know it's a hardened steel. What about Tungsten Carbide? That would never wear...

Oh, and there IS a fully serrated PM2 out there. You just need to wait for it to come back in stock :)

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

What do people think about aluminium/aluminum replacement cages? They are a touch lighter and cheaper than Ti, I guess… But what I don’t know is how they feel and/or how quickly they wear. Has corrosion/rust or the standard ball bearing been an issue for anyone? Aluminum will wear faster than titan...

Re: Options for a plain, simple, boring, old timer like me.

You really should try the PM2. It's the gold standard. And the compression lock is every bit as secure as a lockback. You're really limiting yourself there. And if you like teeth, a Shaman SE. But if you insist, I'd say go for a native. You'd probably be happy with that.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Every Manix I get (regular or XL) gets a titanium or brass cage replacement. This isn't because I think the cage will fail - I KNOW it won't. The cage may be plastic, but all it does is hold the ball and move with a spring. It doesn't need to be a rugged material. The reasons I upgrade are because I...

Re: Knifecenter All Black PM2 CruWear coming soon

I’d prefer a satin, or ideally; a stonewashed finish on the blade As it is; welp, I already have DLT’s DLC CruWear PM2 with grape G-10 scales, so have little desire for the same thing, but more plain. Ymmv Still, I love to see exclusives like this. Imo, they’re superior to the “CruCarta” standard v...

Re: Knifecenter All Black PM2 CruWear coming soon

I'm getting tired of Cruwear PMs... they ran too many this year. Time to change up the blade steel a little! And I'd love to see that beautiful brushed S45VN become the default steel for the stock Manix line in 2023. I'm getting tired of that dull S30V. And if a Manix 3 is on the horizon, I still wa...
