Re: Salt Dreams

These are all fantastic ideas! My personal Salt Dream is still a lightweight backlock Caribbean.

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

the Caribbean really works for me . MG2 ^This x2. Criminally underrated knife in the line up. I don't even need the salt rated aspect of it. I'd still fanboy for the design if it was just S30v and black g10. This, but with a backlock (or linerlock) ,would be so great. The rumored lightweight backlo...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

A pair of 20cv Dragonflies. By happy coincidence I found out that the town I moved to has a 2.5” blade limit just at the same time that the 20cv Dragonflies were available. I’ll be carrying those around town for the foreseeable future. 😁

Outdoor - Aqua Salt PE (H1)

Work - Atlantic Salt PE LC200N

Around Town - Salt 2 PE LC200N

Most Striking - DLT Exclusive 20CV Endura in Ladybug Zome with black-coated hardware and blade

Fanciest - Siren in CF/S90v

Re: New DLT Exclusive Dragonfly - Satin 20CV & zome red/black

I got one! Been needing a replacement dfly. Would have maybe done K390 but I am guaranteed to accidentally put this knife through the laundry several times. Thanks for posting @SchoonerBum :clapping-hands You’re welcome! Glad I could be helpful. It’s good to give some love back to this community wh...

Re: Your favorite color combination?

I’d I had to pick one? The DLT ladybug motif with the black hardware and coated blade is the most striking to my brain.

Teal/DLC is quite nice.

I suspect that a DLC Native Salt would also make my top list, hopefully we see one someday!

Re: Stok

Any updates on the Stok? Is anyone super excited about it after having used it for a while? I stumbled across an article interview with the designer, and I’ll admit that hearing the intent and the design philosophy behind it made me more likely to try one or both eventually. Notably he designed them...

Re: H-2 vs. H-1

I haven’t done any remotely scientific testing but I picked up an Atlantic Salt in H2 as soon as they were available to replace my H1 version at work. I’m still using the H2 and I haven’t noticed any difference, nor have I felt the need to switch back. For my purposes they seem to be interchangeable.

I only own one “fancy” knife, the CF S90v Siren. I’d carry that if it was me.

Congratulations!

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

It just occurred to me that a salt-series machete might be a great place for a combo edge, similar to the proportions on the Catcherman. A long plain edge for chopping and a short bit of serrations on a nice thin 12 inch LC200N machete would be really handy.

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........

Tool lanyards are often essential on job sites at elevation when there is no situation where it is okay to drop a tool. They are handy in any scenario where loss of a knife would result in a negative outcome. They aren’t there just to be annoying. Spyderco makes quite a few knives without them. Thi...

Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?

To start with your last question first, do I value ergonomics or steel more? I want to say yes to both, but my reality has usually been that I prioritize steel over ergonomics if I have to pick one over the other. Sal’s comment (somewhere) about the handle being there to support the blade, which is ...

I love this so much. 😁

I think my boat keys and a manbug salt might each get a champagne cork float.

Re: Boating and lanyards

I like a pair of board shorts with a zippered pocket. The knife stays secure but I don’t have to mess with a long lanyard or worry about it snagging on anything. One thing that makes this easier in terms of accessing the knife is putting a short, stiff-ish lanyard on it, about twice the length of th...

DLT 20cv “ladybug-patterned” Zome, with the coated blade. I only have the Endela but it’s my favorite exclusive from an aesthetic standpoint.

Well this has been interesting reading. As someone who missed the initial release I’m excited that there will be another batch coming and I hope I’m able to pick one up! I’m excited to play with the ceramic - for the cost of a couple of fancy dinners out I can have a new rustproof material to experi...
