Re: Two questions - Scales and glue, and Boltaron sheaths.
I had the same question in one of the topics. I am thinking of using clear silicone once I get the scales from Spyderco. When I removed the current printed scales to test fit my scale design, I saw rust spots on the z-wear. Hoping the silicone will block moisture and it will be easy to remove if nee...

Another version of a 3D Printed Scales
This scale design carries over the design lines of the Mule's bolster to the front end of the scales.

Re: Better Kitchen Knife MT30 or MT31
Would you guys consider putting clear silicone between the scales and handle to seal from moisture? Just swapped scales on my z-wear and found rust spots. There’s a slight micro pit in one of the spot that I was able to sand away. I would like to be able to swap scales if needed so as much as possib...

Re: 3d printed scales with patterns/textures
Great thread on 3D printed scales. Question for you guys. Do you guys glue the printed scales to the mule? My first mule with printed scales was not glued onto the blade. I happened to be experimenting on scale design and when I removed the old scales so I can test the new design, I found rust spots...

Got one, tried for 2 but was only given one at Checkout. Can't wait to try it for kitchen preps. I got the order confirmation a couple of minutes after also.

Re: 3D printing sheaths?
Great addition of strop. I’m still trying to modify the design to eliminate the rattle. Maybe add a belt loop or clip. Problem with clip, knife is top heavy.

Re: 3d printed sheath project
Looks great! I tried using the Spydiehole for retention in one of my design but the PLA at 0.2 keeps getting caught in the ridges and many times does not release smoothly.

Re: 3D printing sheaths?
The lid is recessed into the body and I used CA to glue- printed on PLA. Not quite sure how to use tenons on the lid, perhaps you could mock/draw so I have an idea. Still very new to 3D modeling but very familiar with 2D illustrations. I will share the files in thingiverse soon. I would like to corr...

Re: 3D printing sheaths?
I've actually been dabbling into this since I've received my Z-Wear. I needed a sheath so the knife is not exposed to fingers when I happen to keep it in our bill drawer and such. This is I believe the 8th version, 3rd usable version.
