I am hoping to discover whether or not a flat-ground wharncliffe Endura 4 blade can be sold confidently with an Emerson opener design, as the saber-ground versions are.

If not, I wonder if the reason is, because it would terminally weaken the blade, or otherwise ...

*I am aware of the 5x5 pickpocket. I mean as part of the blade design.

I carry this same setup, not for self-defense, but because of the functionality of the 5x5 attachment allowing for one-handed deployment while I am holding something up in the air with my off hand, and the Yojimbo tip's ability to cut adhesive films like a razor knife.

I have the 5x5 wave tool for my edc Yojimbo 2. Love it. I also have plenty of zip ties.

I am wondering most about the physics of the design. I.E. would it have to be saber-ground? Would the blade be strong enough to sell to consumers safely, etc?.

My dream folder is an Endura / Endela 4, wharncliffe, with Emerson opener (wave).

In a perfect dream world, K390.

Is this physically possible / tough enough (won't snap too easily) for the consumer market?

Just sitting around bored here in 2025 and decided to bump this old thread. I am torn between the Caly Super Blue, the C60, and the Titanium Ikuchi in Magnacut.

As for exclusives, nothing can top the frenzied madness of the Lum Tanto drop in Rex 121 and marbled carbon fiber.

My understanding is that the process has huge implied potential, but no successful use-case at scale as of today, due to extremely high cost of development, and little known capital investment. It is largely stuck in academia, as far is has been publicly disclosed.

Wow. I had never seen a kiridashi. I would buy a folder in that arrangement the day it was released.
