I see a conflict between the mind of a Colonizer vs the Indigenous mind. USA is minded by Colonizers, China is minded by Indigenous.
From google, from a historical and genetic perspective... the Han have lived along the Yellow River for "thousands" of years.
The point is, many countries have ...

Re: China
Sal, have you and Eric considered the Philippines as an allied manufacturing location for budget knives?
1 they are a long time US ally and China is an enemy state to them. Filipinos have directly told me they view the CCP as a dangerous aggressor.
2 The Philippines has a long history of knife ...

Re: China
anyone that thinks there isn't good cutlery made outside of china is simply being lazy.
I'm a chef by trade and my knife roll has:
- USA made
- Switzerland made
- German made
- Thailand made
- Japan made
- Taiwan made
No chinese cutlery.
The best chef knives are japanese in my opinion.
You ...

Yeah. The ignorant belief that this is new, is ignorant.
Like viral beach videos of 1962 questioning why there are no fat people on the beach then, but there are now.
They were shamed, bullied and told they were too fat to appear in public let alone the beach.
Answer, they were at home.

However this is rationalized, I do not think it is a currency issue. The Yuan has been closer to 7:1 for as long as I can find a chart.

To the questions at hand.
I would not pay 6x for the same Tenacious made in China because the political narrative has changed.
I would not allow my intellectual property or physical product to be repeatedly stolen. I would move my facilities to a safer place. In reality, counterfeiting will occur ...

Re: China
Is production in China really a choice today? Tariffs' are leveling the playing field. USA is causing business to bring production back to USA. This is good for America. OK.
A year or two ago, posing these questions may have been about choice. Now it is 100% politics.

"I do believe, in many States in USA, if a person stood in front of you and clearly stated, I am going to war on your wallet, I am taking your job and money, I am going to take your property... Well, lots of Americans would draw and shoot that guy."
There is a bit of 'wild west' rhetoric that ...

Of your list, the one I share is Waterway. I just used this knife processing a bison. It was great around the bung and stuff. It was really good for slipping into and separating joints as well.
Best backup is a good field sharpener.
Good luck eh!

In, under the wire. It's what all my neighbours are gabbing about. Gabions, I've been building a retaining wall and using zip ties to hold the wire in shape. Then I wire it tight with the good stuff.
Speaking of good stuff.

My Para 3 Spy27 is as described by the OP. I always thought that was the way it is meant to be shipped.
Like the nub on the Mule. Some things Spyderco does, is because it is easier for the end line user to remove something vs add something to a knife. I hope this is sensible in a way.

Re: Ever have a lock fail in normal use?
More failures than I would have guessed.
I have learned that one reason I have not experienced a failure may be because I do not stab or pierce often. Even when opening hide, if my blades is newly sharpened, I preferer to slice through vs poke in.

Ever have a lock fail in normal use?
Lots of ideas and opinions 6 pages into the backlock.
I have never had a locking folder fail personally. Never had a folder come unlocked doing normal cutting stuff.
Have you had a folder lock fail? How? What were you doing? How did it fail?
What is normal for you?
