Re: Just for fun. What configuration?

Roc in White#1 or #2, cladded, keep the saber grind, with Magnolia (Ho) scales. Or at least G10 in a matching color.

Mule in White#1

Re: DLT Exclusive Delica OD Green FRN and Coated Cruwear

Finally it's here :)

Picked it up today at the customs office. It's my first Delica and my first Cruwear, so I'm a bit excited to see how it is on the stones.

Re: Kitchen knife nerds- why basic carbons?

To japanese natural grindstones: most of the famous mines in the Kyoto area are depleted. Nevertheless, these mines still stock large, unprocessed rocks, some of which are quarried more than one hundred years ago, waiting to be processed into finishing stones. As I understand, the unique properties ...

Re: Kitchen knife nerds- why basic carbons?

This has all been said but I’ll try to contribute. Kitchen knives are what got me into knives. After running through dozens of gyutos what I have come to find is carbon steels are just what the best makers use in that world. Some great smiths work with SLD (Japanese D2), some do SG2/R2, ZDP or Hap4...

Re: Kitchen knife nerds- why basic carbons?

The race isn't over with shaptons, some will end up with ridiculous expensive chunks of Japanese mountains, which have silicates (even softer than alumina) as abrasive.
But, man, V-Toku responds so we'll to an ohira...

Re: Kitchen knife nerds- why basic carbons?

If you are talking about western style kitchen cutlery made in Japan, there will be no reason not to use any high(er) alloy steel.
If you value the esthetic appeal and use of a carefully crafted Kasumi knife, well...

Re: Ouchie! Ouchie!

From a Chemist's point of view: stainless steel means, that the metal is less prone to oxidation (we're living in an oxidizing environment, so this ist the most likely way, metal changes its oxidation state). Once happened, the resulting metal cations (ions with a positive charge) will/can be dissol...

Re: New Double Sided CBN Benchstone

Sal sent me one to check out ... Thank you Shawn for the video. Please, one question. In the video, you stated microns to the corresponding grit sizes and these are obviously given in JIS and not in ANSI, right? Because it's a little bit confusing, which standard is suitable for sharpening tools fr...

Re: 3/4 of 2020 are almost passed...

To our European friends (@Wartstein, @aicolainen,etc...) who have prohibitively expensive Spyderco retail prices in your region, have you ever considered using a shipping/forwarding services like myUS or Shipito? That's how we get our blades here in our country for US retail prices plus the shippin...

Re: DLT Exclusive Delica OD Green FRN and Coated Cruwear

Nice looking Delica. Great exclusive, it would be even better if it was available in the EU. Keep dreaming (just like me). I am not sure why any big EU stores like Lamnia or Knivesandtools never did any exclusive with Spyderco... HH did the UKPK knife, and like that's it. This will be my first Deli...

Balisongs are illegal in the Netherlands. To carry and also to have at home. As it should be. I remember one if my baisongs picked it's way out of my safe, made its way into town a cut something. I didn't get in trouble because I had no control of the knife. It had a mind of its own. sal...

Re: Help order from Knifecenter to Europe canceled by Airline

Hi Markus, Would it help to have a private party in the USA receive it and re-ship it to you? I know lots of people around here are willing to do that to try to help out non-USA members. If someone of the community will help you, I guess that's a good way to go. Most of the problems arise at any ki...

Re: Your opinion: what are my chances to get a Z-Wear Shaman?

Hello everyone First post here, great community, I learned a lot so far. Love it. Michael, out of curiosity, why do you want to buy a sprint run overseas? They're coming to you, around 2-4 weeks later at lamnia, CT, knt or elsewhere. No frenzy, no fever, no fear of loss, no customs fees or driving 2...
