Hopefully we'll see the Street Bowie in CruWear too!
I don't quite connect with the Temperance at this point. I probably won't until they're all gone - that's usually how it goes with me :)

But a Cru-Wear Street Bowie, and make that a Street Beat too while we're at it. That I'm ready for.

Re: Chaparral Slipit?

I realize there are differences but I still think it’s too close to the ukpk and urban to compete in their split joint line. It just doesn’t feel necessary with designs already very similar in the slipit line. I’d rather the chaparral stay as it was intended. Taichung made lockback gentlemens folde...

Re: Chaparral slipjoint!

I would have preferred FRN, but as a platform I think this could be the perfect slipjoint, so the scale material will probably not hold me back.
But it'll have to wait for an unspecified amount of time, the UKPK MC Salt is the next slipjoint on my list, and has been for quite a while.

Very tempted to acquire this model. Your vote of confidence raises it even higher on my want list. (As usual, great photo. Love me some looong handled S-O ratchet.) https://i.imgur.com/fjTj14F.jpeg probably my most carried and used Spyderco since I got it. I love the salt versions, I have and use b...

Re: The evolution of a car kit

Good thread! Here in California, with Prop 47, thieves get a slap on the wrist for breaking into a car, if that. You can steal up to $950 and it's only a misdemeanor. Car break-ins are endemic in SF and LA. So we tend to carry second-grade items in our cars because, if stolen, we can't count on pol...

Re: Weird info by a dealer concerning the CATCHERMAN: "[On the batch we have the]"blade chips on tubing"".. ? Any inputs

I have to say though: While so far I was very happy when doing business with Coutellerie Tourangelle (like 5 or 6 times), this time I am actually a bit disappointed and/or confused. That's disappointing to read. It's not like we have too many decent and dependable retailers in Europe as it is. I've...

Re: Weird info by a dealer concerning the CATCHERMAN: "[On the batch we have the]"blade chips on tubing"".. ? Any inputs

It’s hard to know what they mean when writing this, so I’ll refrain from guessing. I’m very surprised they have another batch on the way though. While I have arrangements in place to acquire one, it would be really awesome if a few more of these trickled out to European dealers before all stock is d...

Re: The evolution of a car kit

Thanks for sharing. Indeed, the contents of one's car kit will depend on the situations or emergencies one will most likely encounter on a particular trip. My country is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, in addition to having several active fault lines, and being in the path of tropical storms from...

8< ----- The FRN (or GRN, or whatever CS calls it..) is well done.. textured enough to look a little classier than most FRN.. it almost looks like a peel-ply G10, but smoother, so it's easy on pockets.. the clip still has quite a bit of retention, iirc, but it's not a big deal in and out of the poc...

The evolution of a car kit

I recently switched out my ageing 4WD SUV, and took the time to snap some photos while transferring my car kit to my new car. It's a base kit that's always in the car and would of course be supplemented by appropriate gear for each specific trip and season. Winters are long and harsh around here and...

Constitution day https://i.postimg.cc/hGyrwP9N/P5170010.jpg Yesterday there was a birthday in the household, and the nice weather stuck around so I repeated my festive constitution day carry. I do give the HH Urban a lot of heat for its unnecessarily short blade, and carry it much less than I'd pre...

Re: Your favorite color combination?

While admittedly blad coatings can create interesting visuals, I don't like to have my blades coated, so color preference is mainly about handle color for me. And though I'm not picky, and enjoy a range of colors, I mostly gravitate to neutral colors, both because I like them and they genrally blend...

Re: Stok

It seem small fixed blades are becoming quite popular, and as such there is an subsequent boom in supply. I have an affinity for small fixed blades (and small knives in general), so I'm happy about this development, and there are so, so many interesting designs showing up, I can't even keep up. But ...

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters

Here’s a feel good story for ya…so I was working on a customer’s garden and saw this rather large King snake caught in some bird netting that had been set up by them to keep rabbits out…I have no clue how long the poor thing had been there but she allowed me to slowly and methodically cut her loose...

Re: Serrated Edge for Hunting?

I have tried serrated or part serrated edges a few times on a filet knife and a little bit on knives used for hunting (Spyderco Impala, SOG, Browning). I prefer a fine edge for the reasons identified in some of the posts above, it seems to offer more control and predictability. Presumably, this rel...

Re: Spyderco Groom carry suggestions

Congratulations and best wishes on your wedding! I don’t usually carry a knife in dressy situations, and I try to avoid dressy situations altogether, so there isn’t really a knife in my collection suited for that type of use. So if it were me trying to use such circumstances to justify a new knife, ...

It will probably happen eventually. Sal just needs some time to work his way down your wishlist.

Re: Nutritious safe low carb snacks?

If you have an air fryer, you could air fry your own chickpeas. That way you'll know exactly what you're getting. I don't have an air fryer, and I don't really care much for snacks, but my mother in law loves to air fry chickpeas to use for snack. It's a decent snack. It's dry stuff though, so you w...
