Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

So, why I am lockback fan?

It's completely ambidextrous.

It doesn't have detent and it has very strong close bias. These two things are making backlock perfect candidate for IWB carry.

It's strong. It doesn't matter that much, tho.

What's not to like?

I've already started writing notes down for my "observations" thread :)

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

Pool is missing one if the best out there: backlock.

In order: backlock, CBBL............. compression lock.

Don't care for framelock, linerlock.
No personal experience with Stop lock, but that could be good too.

Re: SRS-15 / SRS-13 ?

Mule? Interesting. If not for the stupidly high customs and other taxes I could buy one....but right now I don't feel like spending 30 % + on top of base price. Shame, but I wait for the folder line to come (hopefully) in the future.

Re: Discontinued List 2021 Speculation Thread

I'm guessing the ZDP189 Seki lineup will be disco'd with K390 taking it's place Why do you think so? Yes, K390 is really high on the edge retention ladder, so the ZDP, but it is lot less stainless, and ZDP you could sharpen on ceramic to good results, because almost no Vanadium. But I guess the ent...

Re: Gayle Bradley

Gayle Bradley 2 is a really classic looking desing, and even I don't really like liner locks, this model is really nice. Pricey, but you get the M4 and Taichung fit and finish.
Lock cutout could be addressed in like 15 minutes maybe, even with hand tools you could modified it.

Re: SRS-15 / SRS-13 ?

One more thought about San Mai and stainless steel. Yes, it is kinda senseless to clad already stainless steel with stainless steel, but the SUS410 should be more stain resistant that most cutlery stainless steels, and the package should be more though than monolithic blade. And, let's not forget th...

Re: SRS-15 / SRS-13 ?

With that said what is the main advantage of a laminated San Mai type of steel? Oh I'm sure it would have more tensile strength but other than that what would be the main advantage? History. Traditions. Culture. Main reason was to have hard core with softer outer layers, for strength. Secondary, if...

Re: Sal, may I ask: Any plans for an Endura (or Pac Salt) SE in FFG?

I guess there was a lot of threads and suggestions for Endura FFG SE that it could actually happen in the future. And like you said earlier Warstein, there is already everything developed for this knife: blade, serration pattern and handle.

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

If the sales are good, BladeHQ could make an exclusive of Tanto PM2 with M4/jade G10, but that is my speculation. We don't know yet if this will be like a 1200 piece batch, or it will stick for a year or two. But I have a feeling that we will see at least a few runs of this model. There was some tim...

Re: Sal, may I ask: Any plans for an Endura (or Pac Salt) SE in FFG?

Seems to be what almost everyone here experiences when trying / using Spydercos SE in ffg... :) Funny enough, after trying SE on Pacific Salt, I want to also try SE in FFG Blade :D Seems like RockJumper could fit the bill. Lamnia has a listed price around 110 €, which I not that bad. But similarly ...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

I am going to have to think long and hard on this one. If it had partial serrations, I would be all in. Is there anything special about this PM2 that would prevent a blade swap or an aftermarket scale change? I am sure that scales are normal, why wouldn't be. The tang of the blade should be also th...
