Re: Native Chief Lightweight SPY27

I have to say I'm a bit surprised at the apparent lack of interest in this. Very few posts and fell off the front page in no time. I'll be getting one to try SPY27 and to try the LW in a Native Chief.

Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!

I'm in Australia and it would be a big PITA to return. Any idea when a CQI will turn up? My preference would be if Spyderco ever do it would be a G10 with K390.

Re: CPM 15V Sprint sharpening and performance thread

Hope this steel makes it into regular production. The new Military 2 would be a popular choice. I was done hovering over the keyboard at 3 am years ago. It took me a while to realize how stupid I was. Once you are done with FOMO there's no going back. If Spyderco make a regular production knife that...

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder

Who knows, maybe they will produce a left handed liner lock too. If it's a high end knife with a decent profit margin maybe it would allow for the extra costs in manufacturing to do this. I imagine this should be a strong seller for Spyderco many years into the future. Initial production will sell l...

Re: I’m an indecisive giant. Millie vs Chief!

Of the 2 choices I'd buy the Chief. Why? I find S110V a beast to sharpen and I'm not keen on blurple.

Both are excellent designs and I have both. If they were both standard production models in S30V I'd get the Mille.

Re: Why is the PM2 more popular when the Manix 2 is objectively better?

I personally don't like the lock. If it was a back lock or a compression lock I would own more and use them more. Also It's a pretty big and heavy knife in the pocket. The ergos are hard to improve on though.

I appreciate your replies fellas. I'll get one ordered.
K390 or vg10?

I'll give the K390 a try. I haven't got a spyderco yet in this steel and it's an inexpensive way to give it a go.

Dragonfly warnie for box cutter

I've been looking at a dragonfly warnie for a box opener. Specifically a K390.

Has anyone bought this knife for this use? How do you find it? Is there something out there that is better?

Re: CPM 15V PM2

I'd buy this knife but... I'm done hovering over a keyboard. Hopefully Spyderco will relace Maxamet with 15V or add it to their range. I'm not competing with every man and his dog in a feeding frenzy. Yep, I will be disappointed not to get one but in the long term that won't matter at all. I have y...

Re: Good sharpener for Magnacut

When I recommend a sharpener, especially to someone who's not great at it I always point to the Triangle Sharpmaker. It's fast to set up. Extremely easy to use. Packs up neatly. Because of it's compact size easy to take along camping. If you have a high wear steel you can up to a set of diamond ston...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

Liner locks were just fine decades ago, but nowadays there are much better designs both in strength and also operationally. First of all, the liner lock forces you to put your thumb directly in the cutting path of the closing blade. Not a good thing. Secondly, the liner lock suffers from a greater ...

Re: CPM 15V PM2

Question for Sal. Are we likely to see a permanent production 15V knife with the BBB heat treat? Do you expect the colab knife to be available long enough for everyone who wants to get one to be able to acquire it? I'm keen to see Pete (Cedric & Ada YouTube Channel) do his twisted sisal rope cu...

Re: What's your LEAST favorite model that you actually own?

Another favourite for the list. For me it's the Manix 2. Bulky in the pocket. The lock is fiddly to use. I'd give it another try if they made a back lock again or made an XL with a back lock. I would never buy another CBBL knife.
