Thanks, but it's an old photo, from when I got i back then - it doesn't look like that anymore. Especially since I passed it on to my nephew a few years back.

Re: Salt Knives Only!
I got my first salt knife yesterday. Well I guess “technically” the Spydiechef is a salt knife? I mean it’s about as corrosion proof as you can get.
I got a nice trade deal on a like new in box Caribbean sheepsfoot plain edge. I had been looking at these and reading up on them and LOVE everything about them from the steel, to the sheepsfoot blade and especially the compression lock. I just really really hated the God awful bumblebee scales. But I knew that was an easy fix so I started searching and found this one.
I used RIT dyemore in graphite because I wanted it to still be two tone. It came out a bit darker than I was hoping for but it took a bit to fully cover that yellow from poking through. In person it still has a decent two tone look to it because it’s a dark grey where the yellow was. Anyways I am LOVING this thing with the “fixed” scales on it. It looks soooooooo good and I can’t wait to do some cutting with that excellent sheepsfoot profile. They just blaze through cardboard and pretty much anything.
I have a couple pics of it with its big (little?) neither the chef. That chef is all I’ve carried for a couple weeks now since getting it. That is such an incredible knife! They’re not joking when they talk about the Taichung models being in a different level.

Great pair there.
Re: Salt Knives Only!
Looks great! And the SpydieChef is classified as a Salt Model from Spyderco.

Re: Salt Knives Only!
Thank you. I wasn’t sure if it was or not. I kinda figured it was considering it’s LC200N, titanium and even has a ceramic detent ball. I just think of the bright colored FRN knives when I think of the salt series. But I guess they did make a bunch in black too with the old H1 models. My buddy has an old salt series that’s all black. It’s about the same size and shape as an Endura. I’m not real knowledgeable about the salt series. I know the difference between the Atlantic and Pacific models and I know that, at least on the newer stuff, that yellow is Magnacut and bright green is LC200N (I think anyways?)

Re: Salt Knives Only!
The all black one that's about the size and shape of an Endura would be the Pacific Salt. It comes highly recommended in all its different flavors.

Re: Salt Knives Only!
Yeah it’s definitely a nice knife. Real nice size. I prefer knives in that size range.
