[quote="Mad Mac"]That is a great picture. And yes, the pointed butt is noticeable.
It's a little early but here is my New Year's Resolution.

Mad Mac, it's a Spyderco. Toughen up.
Do you need a safe space little boy?
Do you want to have a cry in?
Do you need a therapy dog?
Do you need psychological counseling?

Don't anyone take this personally. I'm as guilty as any of you for complaining about some little feature or another. But I did this to my ten year old grandson this weekend. He complained that the new SUV was hard for him to get into (compared to the van they had). So after I gave him the riot act above he smiled and said, "No, I just want a step." (He would take the therapy dog, too.)

Good night and get ready for Monday.[/quo

Lol...true that....was just looking, and I don't need any of the above.....what I think I do need is the Magnitude....the dimensions would suggest that it's got that extra length...and it would look great next to the Rubicon.

It sounds that you are much wise than I. For a while I liked peel-ply G10. Flat slabs like Calys were not dream scales, but slightly better than OK. Still OK for some applications. For many years my most used knife was C83 Persian, which has thicker handle the most Spydercos and large radius on edges, plus Schempp's ergos. I love the knife. I used to have Vallotton. It was nice in the hand, but too thick in the pocket. Today I strongly prefer contoured scales. Ti Fluted Native probably is the best out of all Spydercos I own.
How thick is Rubicon's handle?

It is not a lot thicker. My beater Tenacious is a hair under half an inch thick. (I don't have a micrometer here.) The Rubicon looks to be about 5/8ths. Here they are end to end.

Image

It is not only contoured around the grip but lengthwise as well. After packing around my K2, the Rubicon feels very light and handy.

Bravo, good sir. Well said--especially the "therapy dog" part. :D

Not sure if you can call this a "deal", but National Knives has the HAP40 Ladybug and Manbug at the original street price. They also have the Stretch, but it's marked up quite a bit.

Buy one get one free on the blue K04 serrated from Knifecenter https://www.knifecenter.com/item/SPK04S ... r&kcno=123.
This guy sees a ton of use in our kitchen, so hopped on the deal for a back up and to start a set going at our cabin.

Thanks for this. Free knife! Sweet. I already have the PE and SE 4" version and get a lot of use out of those. These will make great gifts (maybe ;)).

Also put me over the hump on pre-ordering the Delica wharnie.

Kc has a Blake Friday sale. Don't you love how these are the same ones that were already on sale for that price.
Top quality is offering 10% off. Probably brings price down to what kc already had...

TQK's sale is on everything, and most of their non-discontinued models were already priced at MAP. Now with the 10% discount, the Mantra, for example, is $151. Coincidentally, I am considering picking up a Mantra...

Good point Cap! I'm still looking at the Techno.
It's not a huge saving but it will help.
