Kristi and sal and others, are there any plans to possibly memorialize the memory of Paul in the form of a knife named after him or not at this time? I remember he loved the Kiwi and Native models. He was a great guy and I miss him. He inspired me to purchase my first Native and that was a great choice.

I suggested that earlier to Kristi in our private communication. Pauls legacy would deserved this, however its up to Spyderco to decide this. So far, I dont have any feedback on it.

Its great to see so many forumites think alike in this topic.

You were still active when I got here and we shared many discussions on everything from backlocks, steels, handle preferences to subjects more philosophical. And I still have the Mule Team that you gifted me that Chad put a beautiful custom handle on. I’ll miss you Paul. I miss Cliff too.

Oh, wow. Sorry to hear this.

I've had many great conversations with Paul, in the forums and backchannel. Never got around to meeting though he wasn't that far away from me.

We had the same listed start date since we were both on the "old board" in 2002 or 2003 before it got converted. Huge presence here and while he will be missed, a ton of knowledge will live on thanks to him.

FYI,

I do have a design that I had planned to make on behalf of Paul for several years. Unfortunately he passed before we could put it into queue. I guess it's open for discussion.

I was around back in the very early 2000s, then didn’t check in for so long I had to make a new login, but Paul was always a delight and I always looked forward to any comments he had on any topics. I know he was close to the crew as well. I think a design in his honor would be a fitting tribute to his presence and community involvement here.

Paul was pretty awesome. I felt sometimes that he would put up with us. Nah, he was super kind.

I learned a lot from him, just interacting with him on this forum. I'm sure his spirit will live on through the knowledge that he shared with us and the manners that he offered to us.

Sad news. In my mind I associate him with his Kiwi collection. You will be missed Deacon ! RIP !

Kiwis, Kopas, probably every iteration of the Native, and some of the nicest custom engraved pieces I've ever seen.

I did not know him at all. We did interact some on the forum and I really admired his way of keeping topics on topics and checking those that occasionally needed a check. For my interactions I really appreciated his perspective.

A memorial knife production for The Deacon would be amazing if only because I do not know of any other knife company that even considers these things for it's customers.

Sometimes it feels like Spyderco uses knives to insert themselves into peoples lives, just to make them better.

Paul always provided outstanding insight and an encyclopedic knowledge of historical spyderco’s.

While I do not hang out here as often, he will be sorely missed.

May he rest in peace.

I purchased a Kris from him off of a different forum several years ago. He was a true gentleman. May he rest well.

There should be a Spyderco Deacon To honor his great contribution to this community. He would be happy about it.

I miss him greatly.

First day back on the forum this year and what a sad thread to discover. I am reminded of Paul's many insightful posts. He was absolutely a core to the community here and the knife community as a whole.
