I had a problem with broken Manix 2 BBL cage and stripped threads in Military backspacer.... (I use my knives and clean them periodically) But I could not BUY the spare part from Customer Service because of company's standards... As a response I got an info that I should send the knifes to them.... it ok if You live in USA... but for users living outside US it can be very expensive procedure. All in all, comparing to other brands, Spyderco service for non US collectors is very discouraging....

As a long therm user of Leatherman tools I can see a big difference in taking care of clients....

... but I still like Spyderco knives... ;)

Not our best collective response IMO, but it has been resolved. I am of the mindset that it is not unreasonable to stock some extra sheaths for resale (accidents happen). Just as they stock clips; one could easily buy an aftermarket clip, but Spyderco still sells them. I am sure many of us would be miffed if we called to order a new D4 clip and were told to contact an aftermarket maker.

The original post and the text quoted within did lead one to believe he wanted a replacement sheath sent to him for free, rather than a purchase inquiry and I believe that was part of the reason for the heavy handed responses.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)
