In fact, I put my name on the blade (engraved at Things Remembered lol) to differentiate between the two. It was long ago lost or (gasp!) stolen by my roommate. Anyhow, It had a molded clip-it. I had heard of them breaking (I think my roommate's snapped off - that's why I think he might have assumed ownership of mine).

Back then, I thought a molded clip-it was a stupid idea. GREAT feature, but if it snapped off, the knife was practically useless for my carrying purpose. Anyhow- I wondered why they never went with a screw-in replacement clip-it which I guess is now very standard.

So after that long winded preamble, the actual question is this, how much would my original, with undamaged molded clip-it be worth today were I to still have it? Collectible? Just wondering...
Welcome to the forums, eldiablojoe. I can't be of any help about the value of the molded clip version, but here's an interesting discussion of its history http://spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C10_Endura.

Very good info, thank you. It appears mine was an early Generation I as I recall the handle being Zyrtex. Bummer, now even more bummed it is lost to time and history :(

Assuming it was the black FRN one, not a lot unless both it and its original box were in pristine condition. Even then, probably no more than the street price of a new Endura 4.

The Deacon wrote:Now for mine. There are a number of people turning out contoured Dymondwood handgun grips with beautifully done carving on the outside and extremely precise inletting on the inside, all done by machine. I realize there are probably 1000 times more J frame S&W's, and ten times that more 1911's out there than even the most popular Spyderco model, but I still wonder what it would take to get someone doing that for a few of them. Am I the only one who'd love having his favorite Spyderco model dressed up in something along these lines, only with a :spyder: logo instead of the intertwined S&W
.

(sorry about the enlarged size of image--I resized it several times in photobucket and it never took for some reason... me or the new forum or photobucket?)
Just wanted to elaborate a little on my opinion above. When I said I wasn't used to thinking in terms of this type of material for a folder, I was thinking of the types of knives I have bought and carried so far. But the more decorative designs seem totally appropriate to me for "gentleman's folder" type knives; I just haven't carried anything in that category yet, the closest so far, the Caly and Delica, but I never know what's next these days. And I'm already thinking that this particular pattern, the grippy small diamond grid, would be interesting on a knife like the Manix or Millie, with :spyder: logo of course. I expect a lot of people would like for their knife to match their service revolver or whatever, for that matter.
