The pinky ramp provides a great deal of leverage. While I'm sure one could grind I off it is giving up a fairly uncommon feature. I'd probably just buy a Manix2 or Para2.

I've been trying to carry mine more, but I'm having the same issue with it that I do with the Military and original Manix. It just works better as a knife to use while wearing gloves than bare handed. The handle and that big choil pushing the edge so far out just doesn't do it for me most of the time.

I had to pick one of these up after reading this thread, and several others. Got it for about 97 bucks from sierra trading post. My fifth Spyderco in a month. I need to slow down. Lol

Great review! I thought long and hard when deciding between this model and the Manix 2 and ended up with the Manix. I still think about getting one from time to time, particularly lately at the great close out prices. That said, as it is quite similar to the Manix and as I can't spend all my money on knives ... the Superleaf is hard for me to justify. So with the headlights of the Domino and Forum knife twinkling in the distance I will have to pass on this great model.

I wasn't around when this thread was active, but I want to share my sympathy for the plight of the Superleaf. I currently own about eight of them, and just about all of them are pre-owned. While I'm happy to have snagged all those Superleaves, it crossed my mind how easy it seemed for owners to part with them.

A solid and robust, no-nonsense folder. Thought it would've done better with the crowd.

Ordered the big Leaf myself at the Sierra site for the same $97 plus shipping. This will be my first VG10 but second compression lock. That lock system has really grown on me! Hate the Twilight Zone of waiting for delivery though.
Cheers...

I too snagged a Superleaf from Sierra since that price was so great! My favorite EDC currently is my Manix 2, so I really think the Superleaf will be right up my ally. This one has definitely flown below my radar for the past year, and after looking into it this past week, I'm very excited to get my hands on one.

Update: the Superleaf just arrive today and man, I am blown away by it! Same size as my Manix 2, less weight (milled liners), compression lock, thick piece of VG-10, wire clip, supreme ergos....it's exactly everything I like in my Spyderco knives :D

Very nice! Mine looks like it is showing up tomorrow.
Thanks for the update. Looks like a number of folks are giving the Superleaf a try.
Cheers...

Well.. The Superleaf has appeared and it dang sure is no fig leaf. VERY nice fit and finish. **** sharp and the more I handle compression locks the more I really, really like them. Put in a slab of S90V or S110V and a couple tweaks here and there, and your getting into grail country for some. As it is for the price point, it is outstanding. Very glad I bought this.
Cheers....

Imagine if the SuperLeaf was popular enough to warrant a sprint...
We could've had a Super Blue SuperLeaf!

WOW! fit and finish is perfect on my example. Very comfortable to hold as well. I may have to bust out the credit card for another one so I can have one user and another one in case I wear this one out, which I'd probably pretty tuff to do with average usage. Just trying to justify it. Lol

I'd love to see a Superleaf sprint in something like M4 or M390.

Oops, ordered another one this morning. I couldn't resist that thick slab of vg 10, and the thought of it not being readily available in the future.
