I might have got an old one I read about that when I first got it and with use has become easier and easy to open.

The back up one I bought is much tighter. I love the lil bugger so no complaints.
Really wanting to buy a 15V Serrated Bodacious. Well a guy can dream, can’t he? :sparkler

I assume you´re talking about the Chaparral - ?

As said: Just from what I read here you are the first one who feels the Chap could be to easy to open, usually people rather say the opposite.
I also can recall that somewhere you reported some up and down play: Also something the Chap with its internal stop pin is not exactly known for... so there might be something... different with yours..? :thinking

Anyway, since you (still) like it, all good!

Yep. I up and down on the Chaparral I might have mixed the names the Caly was so bad I sent it back something I rarely do.

There is vertical blade play on the Chaparral? Or is it the Caly? I've heard of it several times on the Caly but never on the Chaparral.

I've played w/ a few of them (about 3 or 4) and each one has had up and down vertical play, unfortunately. I really want to like that model, it blends beauty and utility really well. Instead, I'll probably pick up a UKPK which is the same design language.

Beauty and utility; I agree. I had a 3.5 and it was an amazing knife, with so much blade. But it did have the vertical play.

You will love the UKPK get the SE Magnacut it has become a favorite with its lock that isn’t a lock.🤫
