The DF salt was the first or second spydie folder I bought, and it got a lot of use those first couple of years. It has been having a resurgence since I moved to a town with a 2 1/2 inch blade limit last year. I picked up a couple of the ladybug 20CV exclusives and the steel really shines in that little Dragonfly blade.

I’ll second the comments above about it being a great backpacking knife. It’s light but capable enough for anything I might NEED to do. I will admit that food prep is easier with a Pacific Salt. Why not both? Half the fun of ultralight backpacking is saving weight on essentials so you can be absurd with other things, like pocketknives in my case. I think you all understand. 🤷‍♂️😁🤣

I've just been looking at the specs for the upcoming Lil' Native LW. It will still have a shorter blade than the Chaparral, but the blade thickness is being reduced to .098, more like a DF2. But the weight will be only 1.5 ounces, closer to a DF2 than to a Chap LW. I think I'll wait on a Chaparral until I check out the Lil' Native LW.
They actually fixed a lot of what I personally don´t like in the original Lil Native on paper (thick blade, a lot of weight in relation to the cutting edge length)

The Chap though still has that amazing blade (and edge) to handle ratio:

Just 3 mm longer than the Lil Native LW, but 10 mm more blade... and that blade still thinner (actually to me not "thin" but reasonable for a knife that small)

Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Well the Dfly Salt SE was my first Spyderco and is still the G.O.A.T. for me but the Chap SE has replaced it until the weather gets hot and humid here…now if and when we get a Salt version of the Chap rankings are gonna change 😉

Are those titanium scales on that DF?
Yup :grin-big eyes
Where did you find them? Who made them?
From ebay, seller is Robco Knives. Came with the Ti scales and backspacer.

I need to grab one! Since I joined this forums I was thinking about buying one and still haven't pulled the trigger. Great looks, great blade, perfect size... some photos shared here are making me want one. Perhaps next purchase should be K390 Dfly :discguised birthday coming, might treat myself with something sharp :thinking

Best pocket knife ever ?! Maybe ... but I must say it is Sal's best design ever. I allways said he was visited by gods when he designed the Dfly. Pure genius. I only wish he designed a 3 incher Dfly3. THAT would be, in my book, the best pocket knife ever for sure ! That being said, I would be more than happy if they brought back the Calypso jr. in a premium steel.
