Urban, but moved to Golden, Taiwan, or Japan (in that order), original profile, in G10/coarser pattern FRN, in K390/Maxamet

hmmm....
I normally stay well out of threads like this, but

Not a "dream Spyderco" - but something I've wondered about & would buy

Linerless FRN Stretch 1 ffg "Salt"
Blade thickness 2.5mm
LC200N steel,
both PE and SE

:astonished :astonished Man!!

Perfect proposal!
A lighter Stretch 1 with even thinner blade and in SE... just great.
LC would be fine, but for me it could be VG10 too.
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

A good filet knife is conspicuously absent in Spyderco's lineup. Folders are KEWL and a folding filet is a nice concept but hasn't been a comercial success for Spyderco. Truth be told, I'd probably have more use for a fixed blade filet in LC200N or Vanax or maybe even Magna cut. What I've been wanting for quite a while is a Phil Wilson designed filet with a 6' blade in a corrosion resistant steel with a Kydex or Boltaron sheath. I'm gittin' a bit long in the tooth so I don't know how much longer I can wait. Well, come to think of it, Sal & Phil aren't exactly spring chickens, either, so as knife makers, please come together and make that dream filet knife before we all meet our maker. :smlling-eyes

Native 5 ish to lil native ish. I will take just about anything 3" blade or smaller with cbbl, backlock or comp lock from golden (imo they make the best backlocks (no lock rock that I've experienced) the best cbbl (duh) and comp lock (the detents are consistently better than Taichung... i know Taichung is getting better but still not quite there) I really wish they made more knives using a cbbl lock. I would like to see more spyderco knives with a button compression lock but I don't really want to try a smock

An affordable knife built in Golden, for the working person who just needs a quality knife and is not an Afi. Think modern version of the sodbuster, but with a lock. I know boring as heck, but $50US+ is a lot for money to spend on a pocket knife for many people. We tend to forget that, especially these days when so many drop $400+ on pocket jewelry. I have to believe Sal and/or Eric have a design that could work.

I'd definitely buy a Lil Manix. I carry Hogue (and previously BM) knives with bolt action locks in that size range, and I've long wanted a Spyderco along the lines of a CBBl Chapparal.

Probably Lil Native-ish because there is still room in the Para series to go smaller. ;) ;)

Nuttin' wrong with a good solid basic functional design like a sodbuster. Spent the better part of my youth totin' a lockback Henckel sodbuster in high carbon steel with cherry wood scales in a Buck 110 sheath like all the cool kids had hanging from their belts. :smlling-eyes Cost all of $12.95 from Eddie Bauer's back then. Much to like about that knife including the slim, but hand filling round handle and 3 5/8" cutting edge blade to handle. (Yes, handle forward edge to handle lock backs did exist back then.)

Would love to see Spyderco come out with a Sodbuster in 9Cr, but it tends to deviate from Spyderco's design philosophy. If you put a round hole and a hump on it, it just wouldn't be a Sodbuster. Spyderco also tends to make most of their folder slab sided to accommodate a clip. Sodbusters are slim in profile but also round and hand filling. You can probably eliminate the hole & hump with a different design like a front flipper similar to the Ikuchi, but not the Smock as the edge wouldn't come up to the handle. I like the no nonsense design of the Sodbuster. It is distinctly not pointy stabby or murdery looking. It just looks like a functional tool. To me it looks like an old friend.

I would like to see more new knives, and less old knives in new clothes. New knives were missing from the last two reveals. It's not that the current models are bad, only that I already have one and don't need additional knives of the same model (ex. PM2, Manix, etc).

1. Harpy with G-10 handles and 4-way pocket clip
2. Manix with G-10 handles and fully serrated blade
3. Military with G-10 handles and 4-way pocket clip and fully serrated blade (I’d settle for just the serrated blade :)

Welcome to the forum!

Very nice first post :winking-tongue
I am with you on the fully serrated Manix (though I´d prefer it to be the LW) and just as well on a(nother) fully serrated Millie (but with more "non aggressive" serration pattern). (Edit: And of course a tip up option would be nice indeed!)
