I think the LW Manix 2 is a good knife. I have the s110v version (a highly recommended upgrade). Spyderco's FRN, FRCP handles are great imo. Lightweight, grippy, durable... They provide everything you could ask for functionally.
My problem: Pinned Construction and the ubiquitous ymmv

Measured last night: 30g for two Manix 2 Alu scales, 27g for the original burled G10 scales.guywithopinion wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:18 am
Do you have a scale? I'd be interested to know what they weigh. They look a lot heavier than a G10 manix, but that might not really be true.

I got a BD1 Manix 2. Man, i gotta say, I'm really disappointed. This was my first knife purchase ever. Brought it to work to cut some bags and cardboard boxes, I notice after the first day a little piece of the tip came off, no biggy, but I also notice the edge had so many dents in it already. This thing was barely cutting cardboard, the next day was fatal. I dropped it opened, on the tip, on a tile floor. The tip was gone. It's just arrived at Spyderco today for a grinding. Here's the thing though, I went to walmart and bought a resilience to fill up the space in my pocket. Man does this knife outperform the manix 2 lw in everyway. Flips open easier, cuts through cardboard and plastic bags like nothing. Not a single blemish on the blade after a days work. Why is this $50 dollar knife outperforming one I paid $90 for? I like the way the manix 2 lw looks, but **** the resilience aint bad looking either, and its a work horse, so far.
