Sounds like I should buy up all the PE Dfly hawkbills :)!

The same is true of Mariners, the PE go for way more than SE. Maybe these blade types get more SE purchases because of the usage. If I cut rope much I'd be glad my Harpy is SE.

Well we don't have any Dragonfly hawkbills yet :( But the idea is catching on it seems. The more I think about a Dragonfly hawkbill with a G-10 Dodo type handle is really exciting me the more I think about it. If the decision makers at the Great Spyder Factory give this some serious thought they could have a great selling Hawkbill in their line up soon. It would also be a huge boost for the H-1 Salt Series too.

I'm now also liking the idea of an H-1 SE Native as well as an H-1 Dodo. But a Dragonfly Hawkbill is really stuck in my head and I truly do hope that it catches fire here in Spyderville

When I did my rendition of the Dragonfly hawkbill back on page 3 I used the Spyderedge because it made more sense.

I still believe this would be a great seller for Spyderco.

There is no doubt in my mind that a Dragonfly sized and style of a Hawkbill with a G-10 handle similar to what the Dodo model has and put it in the H-1 Salt Series and I'm sure you have a slam dunk winner for sure. For you plain edged folks Yeah I definitely want it available in both edges>> Spyderedged and PE.

But a yellow handle for SE and an orange handle for PE would truly be a great addition to the Salt line up.

OK it's either that scenerio or introduce the Dodo model in H-1 in PE & SE>> But I have no doubt that either blade would sell like lottery tickets

That should be a mandated law here at Spyderville as well>> GIBB's Rule #9 ( not to be confused with the Beatle's song Revolution #9 off their White Double Album :D )

Yes Gibb's Rule #9 should be mandated to where every Spyderville citizen should have to strictly comply 24/7  :spyder:

A Dragonfly Hawkbill the more I think about it just makes perfect sense. It gives you a selection in between the Ladybug Hawkbill and all the Harpy sized Hawkbills as well. And variety is what make's Spyderco's amazing line up so great.

I could even go with an FRN handle just to see if this newly proposed model could get off the ground so to speak. Maybe we should even have a "vote thread on Hawkbills" concerning this?

You can add me to the list of those wanting a dragonfly sized hawkbill. I'll take one in PE and SE.

And John I know you're not the only one who would really like to have a Hawkbill in that size range. With all the unexpectedly positive fanfare we've had concerning the Ladybug hawkbill which frankly surprised the socks off of me  It only makes sense to fill a marketing void in that size range. The more I think about it I bet a Dragonfly sized hawkbill would even outsell the Harpy  >> and I wouldn't have believed that even 6 months ago.

But with the response we're getting and with the rising popularity of the Dragonfly model itself since being put in the H-1 Salt Series I truly think it's a "NO BRAINER" of a marketing move.

The only other idea I like better would be to go with a bigger size of the Dodo model>> but that's another thread for another time. I bet a Dragonfly sized hawkbill would even outsell the Dragonfly itself once a few folks try it out.

In spite of some of the negative I heard about the nuclear green USN Catcherman a couple of years ago I've gotten a user of that knife and it's growing on me and it's easy to find when I misplace it.

Green, Yellow, Orange all would be fine for me if they were to do a Dragonfly sized Hawkbill>> But it absolutely MUST be available in SPYDEREdGE!! No compromise at all

An H-1 version would be great and they could also do one in XHP too.

OH yeah if we have a Dragonfly sized Hawkbill I definitely would like to see each edge type have it's own nuclear colored handle. I would love to see nuclear green on a plain edged and a flourescent orange handle for a Spyderedged version.

G-10 handles would be my preference but I could live with FRN just to get them out of the gate so to speak.

Also I do think that with the recent surprising popularity that the Ladybug Hawkbill is enjoying I'm almost certain that a Dragonfly sized/style of Hawkbill would help ignite the popularity of all of Spyderco's Hawkbill models which are completely misunderstood IMO.

And to have more Hawkbills in different size ranges would just show people the practical uses they have>> getting folks to actually use them is half the battle,

Man, I'm in for ANY Dragonfly with solid G10 handle scales. That would rock so hard.

I'm cool with Green and Serrated. :)

Hey Dude!! If Spyderco caves in and gives us a Dragonfly sized/style Hawkbill the color can be negotiated. YOu can have the green Spyderedge if that makes you feel better :D But I do like the idea of different color handles for different edge types. Because one of my most precious set of Hawkbills are my NIB VG-10 black, SE Spyderhawk and blue PE Spyderhawk also in VG-10>> there is just something really cool about each edge type having it's own color.

But now if they give it to us in the H-1 Salt Series I can live with nuclear Yellow on both if I have to. But for right now let's just get this thing on the drawing board and get the Great Spyder FActory to give it serious consideration. Actually with all the fanfare on this thread coupled with the surprising, unpredicted popularity of the Ladybug Hawkbill I'm sure it would be a slam dunk at the box office. This idea is great and it just has to grow legs>> and the sooner, the better
