These brown scales really suit this knife, classy
I have lost count how many times I have complimented ladybug93 posting the brown Manix2 . At this time it’s the only lightweight of interest for me but secondary sales are very high . Great picture of it as usual too . MG2

It is an excellent knife. I might get one like Jsumm's depending on what we actually won in the Random acts of kindess giveaway ! I thought it was a "care package" sent to everyone but some people seem to think it is divided among the winners. Guess we'll see !
If I get that Manix, I'll make sure to up my game and provide good shots as a thank you to Spyderco !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I really like the SPY27 Manix 2. It is one of my most carried knives. Honestly, If someone were just looking at a Manix 2 LW, for the price, I think the BD1N is the best value. They upgraded from BD1 in the last batch. They are in stores now in most places. Highly corrosion resistant. Not that much of a difference in my opinion than SPY27 to justify the cost difference. You can get in in black or my choice would be the translucent blue due to its uniqueness.

I own the BD1N Manix 2 LW, I am simply excited about (maybe) getting another example of SPY27 in another blade ^^.
So far the Native 5 LW got some aesthetic damage pretty fast cutting cardboard boxes containing powder that had silica (did that a lot with my Maxamet, should've kept using this one lol).
Other than that, I managed to make SPY27 take a really sharp edge pretty nicely ! That's what is getting me the most excited, a big blue knife with the thinnest of apex i can produce (wich is not thin enough, and won't ever be)

I'll pick a winner tomorrow to let some time to the usual suspects if they chose to play this week :)

Not as many participants this week, but this did not make the choice easier in any way !
After a lot of thinking, I decided to go with my first reaction to each shots. It was a good reaction for every picture, but there's one in particular that made me smile, and hungry :

congratulations to RevMike and it's Candy Dish filled with things that'll hurt your teeth (and some of them have teeth too :rofl )
I especially love how the colors are as vivid as the ones you'd find if you were at a candy store.

As a (blade) runner up, I'd like to quote Leeman1's set of real lightsaber. I like the idea and the posture, especially the red one. The lighting effect is good, showing very well on the DLC.
I like pictures including where you need to find the point of equilibrium of one or two items, and this one seem to be the case in addition of being awesome !

Congrats RevMike & Leeman. Wait are your real names Mike and Lee. Or are you throwing us off and it is something like Dan and Jake?

Both of those pics were outstanding. My only question was which one were you going to pic for first. Very creative and cool. Well done everyone.

Candy Dish (it even has a name !) is so full of details that interested me, the first pass brought the biggest reaction but returning to each shots made me appreciate so much of it. The glass is reflecting every color from the knife handles, it's really cool. I think the glass isn't fully transparent from the start, it has a tint but nonetheless we can see every handle colors in each facets.

(Maybe I just went in a psychedelic trance and nobody is gonna see an ounce of what I'm seeing :squinting-tongue )

I am really a Mike. Not sure what Leeman's name is but he had some pretty great photos this week. It had to be a close pick.

Thanks for the pick and the free week off. The "Candy Bowl" was a fun idea to execute and the competition was great, too. I'd like to see a few more photos in the mix this week.

Let's see what everybody has got.

The unique and beautiful Watu.

I just got one of these in the mail! Are we buying the same knives at a time? My next purchase will be another Spydie Chef. If this is the direction your going, I will assume you might be a twin of mine!

Ha ha! I do like that Watu. I have had it for awhile. Just try to get it out from time to time to play. I actually have a Caly 3.5 CF at my house right now , but I won't be back in town until Thursday night to play with it. Expect a lot of pics and praise come Friday. May want to get ahead of it and block me.

Kevinim : really ? I just ordered a SpydieChef as a tap on my back for not having any hole in my budget for now :nerd

Man do I love the N5. All of them really but the LW's aesthetics are just wow.

Hi All,

Watching this thread - I was wondering how many of you just snap quick shots with your phone vs. how many use a "real" camera; and also if you put any time into processing.

Rather that derail this thread, I posted the question (and a poll) in the Off-Topic forum:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=91979

Check it out and let us know.

Thanks!
