What "Other" is in your pocket???
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Couple of new arrivals this week. Microtech Hera and MBK EWC.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
How are you liking that EWC? Is the front flipper awkward to open?
I have the EZC 1.5 and I'm really pleased with it
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

Can you give a little more info on this one? It looks like an auto or gravity knife but the description @ White Mountain Knives says it’s a folder.
40 Spyderco knives in 11 different steels,
1 Byrd and 30 “others”

I’m in love with it Pat, it’s not awkward at all, probably the easiest flipper I’ve ever had to open. It’s an amazing knife, and the double detent slipjoint operation is really cool!

That micarta looks great on both of those. I was very tempted by the EZC 1.5 as well since it hung around for a couple weeks. Great knives put out there!

Congratulations! :) 0357 is good ZT, but there is no detent hole in blade for liner's ball.

That's okay. I would have preferred it without the Speedsafe opening, but I like it so far. It seems well-built and rugged.

I'm with you...had a SpeedSafe 0350, just couldn't get along with it. Sold it and bought a 0562, fantastic knife, love that slicer grind and it flips smooth as glass!mikey177 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 6:56 pmI've hesitated to buy this model for a long time because I prefer ZTs manual flippers to their Speedsafe models. However, you share such gorgeous photos of it on this forum that I finally went ahead and ordered one.Makunochimaster wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 8:01 amIMG_20211029_130818.jpg

The 0350 can be deassisted. It has a dent ball and the matching hole.benben wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 8:58 amI'm with you...had a SpeedSafe 0350, just couldn't get along with it. I've never tried an 0350, but I do agree that the 0562 is a great knife.
Thank you!

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Been carrying this one for the last week. After being rinsed out and washed a few times it was dragging a little so I decided to disassemble, clean and lube.
Welp, upon reassembly the head of the body screw broke off. It never really felt like it seated, just kept spinning and when I pulled back the torx driver the head of the screw came with it.
Glancing over Quietcarry's warranty it looks like basically nothing is covered after the knife is used, and the knife is not to be disassembled. I'll reach out to them on Monday, but not real excited about the response I may get.
ETA: This one and the screw problem I had with my Lil' Native are feeling like really bad luck. I didn't feel like I was using much force at all in either instance. I've definitely buggered some screws before, but these last two just feel like bad luck...
So it goes.

Man! Nice knife, sorry about that screw! If nothing else, perhaps you can extract the remains and buy an aftermarket screw from some large hardware supplier?Airlsee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 6:25 pm[img]https://i.ibb.co/3pqBWyn/PXL-20211106-001319372.jpg[/img

If it comes to it, I'll have to go that route and try to find a screw with the right dimensions from an online knife parts supplier.
Honestly, I'm hoping that they will end up fixing it with a fee. They mention $20 for reassembly or parts, but also state that broken screws aren't covered under warranty. So, it's the grey area of "do you have the ability to fix it"? Since their manufacturing is in Taiwan, I assume their assembly is in Taiwan as well, and doubt their "repair" department is very robust or even exists at all.
What's funny is that I bought the knife like 6 months ago but carried it very little up until recently...I really like the design and the blade once it was given a proper apex.
Any experience extracting broken precision screws? I don't have access to a drill press at the moment.
