I can see why people like this one. PD1!
Thank you for the picture of knife in hand. It’s always good to see how big the knives are in reference to a hand.

I pulled this one out to play with and admire. I feel the Phoenix is under appreciated. It is surprisingly good in hand. I love the aesthetics and haptics of the metal ball bearing lock. The plunger assembly is gorgeous.

My complaint with the BBL is that the detent is too easy too overcome. Functionally the CBBL with its smaller ball bearing requires more force to overcome the detent than on the BBL. The blade has a very nice hollow grind and swedge at the tip.

Regardless i think it is a very cool knife and a sleeper.

Just gotta keep in mind how different the same knife can look depending on who's holding it. Something I learned the hard way :squinting-tongue

Fingers line up pretty close, but look at the difference in the way we angle our thumbs.

This Spydeco Stretch 2 XL is in my pocket today and come to think of it most days lately. I'm a Spyderco guy through and through, but I have to admit that no other Spyderco knife has ever made me quite as happy as this one. The Stretch 2 XL in CPM CruWear and G10 is the ultimate version of one of Spyderco's best knives. People love the Stretch 2 Lightweight in k390, and for good reason, but this is clearly better in my opinion.

Has anyone here had any luck with swapping the blade on these to one of the other blades that are available now? Specifically the PD1 sprint or the VG10 version? K390 is coming too. I'm likely to pick up a stretch 2XL lightweight just to have replacement blades available for this knife should I ever need one.
