I like the way you thinking too, but I doubt that forum knife will be totally new model. Modifications also can require prototypes. Like FRN UKPK with black FFG blade.
New Golden model for Forum knife will be very cool. Expensive, but cool.
I still want Carpenter supersteel Native5 with dark green handle and laser etch on the blade similar to purple Native :)

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Prototype ...Hmmm. How about the Military 2. Maybe the forum members will get the first shot at it.

While I obviously can't rule out the possibility Sal was referring to a brand new model, or a major change in an existing one, I know that he's used the word "prototype", to describe the first samples of an existing model with new scale material/color. An example would be the five Schempp Persians he had me photograph a couple years back, before the red G-10 Persian Sprint and the Persian II were released.

Do hope we hear something soon. There's a fine line between adding to the fun and excitement with a bit of mystery and sheer torture. ;) :D

Welcome to the forum.
During the years Spyderco made quite a few Spyderco Forum knives (as well as BF knife, USN knives and EDC forum knife).
You can find the pictures at Paul's website

Any forum member is eligible. So today is your lucky day - you learn about forum knife and now you need to get one. Just be patient. Nobody except Spyderco knows for sure what it will be.
Thanks. I've been a knife guy for years but somehow overlooked Spyderco. About a year ago the PM2 caught my eye and I had to have one. I love it and now I'm a Spyderco addict. I've got my first satin/black PM2, a brown s35vn, a green cts 204p on preorder, a couple green tenacious (tenacii???) and the burgandy meerkat on preorder. I don't know if I can afford this forum knife :) so I hope it's something I don't want...who am I kidding, I hope it's something I love.

This is very exciting to hear that it's moving along. Of course it will be a new version of a left hand Military :)

Glad to hear this is alive and kicking, prototype certainly means decisions were made and we're getting close. :)

Ok, I can't tell you any more details or I promise I would. I'm not trying to tease, but I had to post something because there were a LOT of polls and questions going around. To make things easier for those waiting... when I can tell you details I will post them in a NEW thread, not this thread. So if you see this thread pop up again, it's not going to be because new details have been posted. ;) Hopefully that will help with some of the annoyance and frustration. Hang in there!
There is nothing more important than this one day.

Most of the forum knives have been versions of the more affordable models and Spyderco has sold them at 40% off list.

Patience is a virtue. I need to practice what I preach.
BTW, it's might be something that Spyderco has never done before.

As Kristi posted just a couple of posts above yours....when there is news, it will be in a new thread. So no new thread...no new news.

I am just slightly scared of missing the pre-order because I don't check up every day.

I hope it isn't a narrow margin of time to be able to get in on one.

I don`t blame you...but when Kristi posts it will be a sticky at the top of the board I am sure.

Hard to say how fast they will go. I am sure that they are going to limit the number that any one person can buy, so they should be around for a little while, not long likely, but long enough that if you keep checking back you will get one.
