I am trying to decide if is should buy a backup Caly 3 ZDP or a LUM. If I got the LUM, it would have to be a user and I don't know how well those coated aluminum scales will hold up. As well, I am not even sure I like the looks of that knife. Perhaps it will grow on me?
Regards, Al
The "soul" of hi-tech materials like G-10, H1, ZDP, Titanium, carbon fiber, etc is found in the performance. That appreciation of the "spirit" comes out in time, after use. It's saying, you can depend on me! I'm there for you no matter what! - Sal Glesser

Thanks, Al. I'm really looking forward to them. :)Percival wrote:Great catch, Doc! Those are both exceptional knives in their own right and I know that you will treasure both.
For now, my Lum's on safequeen duty, so I can't say for sure how well the coating will last. I can imagine it would scratch if it comes in contact with sharp edged metal, but other than that, it looks and feels pretty tough for most everyday chores. That's why I'm going to get a backup Lum when I can afford it. :DPercival wrote:I am trying to decide if is should buy a backup Caly 3 ZDP or a LUM. It is good to know that I am not the only one that goes for backups. I think it is a :spyder: variety of OCD. Almost every one of my users has a backup in safe keeping. Of course, Yab calls them "pre-need replacements'.Doc Pyres wrote:Thanks, Al. I'm really looking forward to them. :)

LOL :D I actually ordered THREE Swicks and I still think I need more. "Let's see, one for the car, one for the briefcase, another for opening the mail, hey, don't we need some bathroom Swicks, and and...."Percival wrote:It is good to know that I am not the only one that goes for backups.
