Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
In a perfect world I'd buy one just to have one. But tip down only, liner lock.... I'd never carry it. It would have to be front of right pocket for me to carry. Not only is it awkward to carry a large knife there, that's where my P'kal lives.
I had planned on getting one of these when I heard they were being made, but now that the moment is here... I think my first Military will be a Military 2.

I have a s110v military I like a lot. I think this knife will sell out quickly. I won’t be getting one. When the fiber carbon s90v military 2 comes out I’m in.

You could do a tip up mod by using the lanyard hole.
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

There are also aftermarket scales that will do the mod as well. RC Bladeworks is one.

Did you drill through the liners as well? What size drill bit? Might have to try that.

These are what I used... Quick and easy mod. No liner to drill.Guts wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 8:40 amJSumm wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 8:36 amA few bucks and a drill.Wartstein wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 7:41 amFrankie2blue wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 8:56 amI would have been interested, but it would be my only knife with tip down only carry, so for me that’s a deal breaker.

Thanks for that! Might have to give it a shot on this St. Nick's military.

Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
Still on the fence about this one. I already have the grail of CQI Militaries and rarely carry any of them, but that red on black with 4v suits this model so well.
Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
That's where I got them from!! I couldn't remember who shared those pieces. I had a feeling it was you, but now I remember. When you first shared it, I saved those on my Amazon Wish List, so I could access them some day down the road. Thanks!!abbazaba wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 8:47 amThese are what I used... Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
No liners on that end of the knife. Just G10. I started with the size of the inserts, but quickly learned that they flare out when the screw is inserted. So I just went up a few sizes one at a time until it worked. A little trial and error. I want to get some custom scales for this Military, so I wasn't concerned if I screwed up the scales. I am positive there are more professional jobs done around the forum.

Thanks for the tips! I'm undecided if I'll even do it, but wanted to know how just in case I do.JSumm wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:08 amNo liners on that end of the knife. Just G10. I’m in too! I am more excited about this knife than any that I’ve ordered in quite a while.
