Id have to say my most Sentimental Spydie is my native 4 bb that I got for my 13th birthday. That knife has been to **** and back with me. It never failed me no matter what. Once while camping, my friend had forgotten to grab the axe for the fire wood. so through patience, time and a decent amount of whacking my native with a stick, I was able to split enough wood for the fire. It was definitely a horrible idea and I kept telling myself it was gonna break but it never did. to this day the blade has zero play in any direction. Its in sort of a bad way though so I'm gonna send it to the spydie spa soon :D

Haha. Thanks for the assist. I do have a carbon fiber zdp stretch, but the FRN Combo Edge is the special one to me.

I have a few spydies with significant sentimental value to me. There's the SFSW MOP Kiwi my wife gave me as an engagement present, she knew that's the only kind of jewellery I really liked. And my Centofante 3 has a special place; I gave it to my dad for his birthday and when he passed a few years later I got it back. About 8 months later I had to endure some rolling eyes from the nurses, but they eventually supported me using it to cut my daughter's embellical cord. :)

Mine is a Police I found BNIB with the date code DK. I gave it to my nephew this past Christmas knowing he wanted a Spyderco Police and nothing else. He is named David Kenneth after both of his grandfathers (David posthumously)...all of the family calls him "DK" for short (his father is named David) When he opened it and realized the date code it made an instant special moment.

Right now it would have to be the Spyderco Civilian that I bought probably 10 years ago.
What makes this knife special is that I've carried it to every wedding that I've been to in the last 10 years, so that builds some memories.
I haven't cut a lot with the knife, I even try to avoid it given that it's a Civilian, the best use thus far was probably when it played certer stage in one of those "inviting the in-law" pictures.

There are two that will always be with me, regardless of their condition. Both were given to me by my fiance.




The Lava was the first birthday gift she ever bought for me. It was a complete surprise. About the only thing she knew was that I liked Spyderco knives, and she went off of that. It remains one of my favorite knives of all time.



The Santa Fe Stoneworks Delica was another complete surprise. She got this one for me our first Christmas together. There's an art shop on Chincoteague Island that carries various Santa Fe modified knives. Knowing my love for sharp pointy objects with holes in their blades, she got me this dressed up Delica. It doesn't see a lot of pocket time, as I would hate to see something happen to it, but it's the one I carry for special occasions. If she doesn't get me a new Spyderco before the big day, this Delica will probably be the knife riding in my pocket.

It was the 1st Spyderco knife I came up with for KW that was produced.

It's a toss up between my first Delica, which was a gift from my father and which I subsequently convexed and mirror polished (saber ground ZDP D4) and the M390 Mule Team that I fitted with ebony scales for my father. The dad connection makes both of these sentimental.

:spyder: My most sentimental :spyder: is exactly the same model as the one in my avatar. Had it since 98 or 99 I think :confused: ...Can't recall exactly. Well, in 2006, while deployed to Afghanistan, I went home for a few weeks on vacation. In order to ensure it was well hidden in my kit (so as not to lose or forget about it-go figure :rolleyes: ), I placed it in my field message pad holder at the back. I didn't even use it at home. I used it's twin, my 1998 Endura SE (the one that took shampoo on an Army exercise years earlier and corroded bad and I could afford to lose, so I took less precautions in hiding it) because, at that time, I liked my SS better, and if one went missing...
Well...when I came back three weeks later and wanted to put it in my combat pants, it was no where to be found, Searched high and low. Nothing. I was pretty upset I couldn't find it, and pretty much accepted that my kit had been searched in Germany or Dubai and some clown stole it without my knowing.
So..........life went on without it . Until back home like at least two years later after splitting with my GF, I was packing all my Army kit up to leave her house (yea, I know...don't flame me for living at her place, I'm ashamed enough :o ), and in getting everything in order I found my FMP. It was odd, the FMP had a weird bulge in it. I opened it up, and there she was. My Endura II SE.
Moral of my story? GF's come and go. My :spyder: are always there.
And yes, I'm still single. :D
