Simple just fill the spyder with the paint of your choice (I like Testers model enamel), let it dry and then sand the clip lightly until you remove all the paint except what's in the groove. If you don't want the clip sanded just fill the spyder and wipe the clip clean and if you do it light enough it should leave some paint in the groove.

For decades (maybe centuries, but my memory of those days is fuzzy) black and white and maybe other colors of "lacquer-sticks" have been used to fill in engraving on camera lenses, etc, that have lost their paint. You just mark it on and wipe it off with a rag, leaving it in the engraving. It dries pretty quick. I've only used black & white, but I see that something similar is available this century in red. The Spyderco bug on some clips may be stamped too shallow to keep this stuff from wearing off. Camera lens engraving used to be cut pretty sharp and deep back when they were made out of metal.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

Q: When will your mother be Yo-yo Ma?
(Hint: it's not when she starts playing the cello.)

Hmmm...I'm really starting to agree with Evil D. We may need an all black Yo2. That Manix has me rethinking DLC..

I'd pay a premium for real Spyderco DLC on a Yo 2. I wouldn't bother with any other coating but the real thing.

This is the best thing about this little hobby. That a grown man can get this excited over a pocket knife! Like a kid at Christmas time! :D
