Honestly, I'd go for a FFG delica in your situation, or Endura if you want that extra inch. For opening boxes etc these blades have a little less of an upswept tip than say the Stretch, are extremely lightweight for the cutting power, and available in your choice of steel (VG-10 or ZDP-189, or even H-1 if you wanna go the Salt route) and color (VG-10 only). I carry the Stretch daily (in between the Delica and Endura at 3.5") and don't even notice it's there.

When I carry both the Stretch and the Dragonfly, I use the Dragonfly 95% of the time. It cuts like a much larger knife, and is considerably lighter than a Delica. Also available in your choice of steels (VG-10, ZDP-189, H-1).

The US Spydies I am less experienced with, and you have plenty of opinions already.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

There's nothing wrong with the Native LW, whatever the number is.
The Native 5 is a heavier, more expensive knife, but the Native LW is
a great lightweight very nice looking knife. I don't have any pictures,
but I thought that it should get some love.

Also, there's nothing wrong with someone wanting a Golden Colorado knife.
I like the Golden Colorado U.S.A. Earth engraved on the blade as well.
I have knives from everywhere else, but I have a fondness for the Golden
ones. If that is what you want, then get it. It's your knife, let everyone
else get what they want, you get your USA knife and carry it with pride.
I do.

I would just like to thank everyone for their help. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Cento and the Native. I just wish i could feel them in my hands before i make a purchase. But I will probably get the Manix at some other time, cuz that seems like the perfect EDC for me. Outside of work, that is :D

Spydie either way I think your on the right track and won't be disappointed. If your gunning for Golden blades that's great (you didn't) but don't discount the other countries. I think people get caught up on the countries and forget certain knives are made where ever they are with price in mind and to distribute the work load, every knife could be made in Golden but some would cost wayyy more than they need to and would cause production in Golden to be extremely slow, as they would be overwhelmed.

Back to the point though, I can't see you going wrong with any knife you mentioned, but if your worried about the NKPs go small go friendly. Look at the knife and think, if I pull this what will NKP think? I'd think it's awesome to see you pull an Endura, Rock lobster or tenacious but that might be overkill to others. I think the Cento is reasonable, Native is as well. Don't discount the smaller guys too, Ladybug, manbug and dragonfly.
Pink knives rock btw it'd make the scaredy cats feel more comfortable and no one is stealing it from you.

Good luck, post your find!

I'm leaning more towards the Centofante now (it just looks so awesome) but I heard that if you put the pocket clip in the tip down position, it will tighten the scales around the pivot pin and make the opening difficult. Have any of you run into this problem?
