Not trying to play hall monitor, but we might lay off the politics.

In a different scenario I would love to join in but forum rules, etc.

Nothing beats seeing someone chime in on a conversation like this and see the signature line read "posted on my iPhone" :)

The PCCA purchased a denim factory in Guatemala to produce denim clothing for sale in the U.S. market. The Denimatrix factory has been acknowledged by the U.S. Secretary of State for its "corporate excellence". Plus, every pair of jeans is manufactured with cotton grown by my family or other farmers in the U.S.A.

Not all clothing products are produced in sweatshops - and you can still buy clothing that supports U.S. family farmers.

Ordered a pair of them from safedenim.com and they arrived yesterday. Good looking jeans and very well made. I especially appreciate the large coin pocket. It works well with my Kiwis and I could tuck a Chaparral in there if I felt like it. The one caveat for anyone who might be contemplating getting some is that, assuming the pair I got are the norm, they run small. For me, it's just one more incentive to shed a few more pounds, but you might want to consider ordering up a size.

What sort of responses were you realistically expecting?

There are, how many of them? Almost two billion people. They don't even need to send the whole army, only the cooks will do...

Jokes aside, this is the price the world has to pay. You can't keep a couple billion people in a corrall to the brink of surviving, while over the fence their neighburs enjoy their lavish lives. It simply doesn't work.
Moving the global industry in China gave people there a reason to stay there instead of desperately trying to migrate no matter where. Yes, there is still poverty and abuse and hunger, but not as it used to be 20 years ago. Besides, let's not forget that a citizen on social service in Western Europe has an incomparable better living than a hard working familly in China. Except Huaxi, of course ;)
