I think he is trying to say that steve irwin helped the animals but they didnt realize it helped.

I agree with cornelis though. I dont think he was "a great thinker" or anything. He liked to play with animals, had money, so he built zoos/animal protection, advocated it, and thats it. I dont think he had a noble goal or anything deep down. He seemed like a nice guy though and knew what he was doing, and i liked him.

treadwell...dont get me started. i dont like that guy at all

JD Spydo wrote:I think it would be a great idea if Spyderco could make a Survival Knife and call it the "Crocidile Hunter". I saw him carry a fixed blade in quite a few of his shows but you can be assured that he had a nice folder as well. If anyone on this planet ever deserved a commemorative knife in their honor it was without a doubt Mr. Steve Irwin.
Really nice post, JD. I agree with you 100%. But knowing how long it takes to produce a new spyderco knife I think it would be faster, easier... to make a knife already in the market as a tribute knife. If a pink delica is a possibility I don't see why it couldn't be made in khaki color also (like his famous shorts) and put some nice engravings on the blade and put it in a nice wooden box. I vote for delica. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if someone who's name here means a lot (JD, Chad, Dialex, Doc...) posts a thread in general discussions about it. I would do it but as a member with only 40 posts I doubt my opinion matters.

Steve, you were one of a kind. You are missed.

Very sad news indeed. He was a really interesting guy to watch. He was way to young to die, but as has been said, at least he was doing something he loved.
