I would rather Sal and Eric focus on their existing models and continue refining their proved-successful designs instead of trying these new things.

That doesn't even need to be mentioned, that is a constant process. I don't think Sal or Eric ever stop looking for ways to improve existing models, except maybe when they're asleep...but that's still a big if. It wouldn't surprise me if one of them had a brilliant idea come to them in a dream

Actually, trying “new things” is 1 of the things that got Spyderco where it is today…Spyderco innovations, which we now take for granted to appear on almost any brand of pocket-knife, like the opening-hole; pocket-clip; and serrations; were at 1 time unheard of in the world of pocket-knives.

No doubt that Mr. Glesser and co. will continue to improve on their existing models as well, but I think sometimes an “improvement” begins as something that seems at 1st radical, until everyone agrees that it is better than what they used to have.

…plus, that Tarantula is badass!
