Some great conversation going on here. I'm proud to be part of the group.

FYI, Spyderco is making a CBN 2 sided stone.

sal
What differentiates the CBN 2-sided stone you referenced and the current CBN offering that has 400 and 800 grit sides?

Hi P_atrick,

Same stone. I was just letting some now that we make it, as it's fairly new.

Has anyone used these? I’m also thinking about getting some spyderco cbn and ceramic stones what would y’all recommend and where should I buy from? https://www.gritomatic.com/collections/ ... ed-diamond
Yes I use the smaller ones for Edge pro. I currently have the 40, 20, and 10 micron stones. Definitely get the abrasive powder for dressing the stones. I like the way they cut and the finish they leave. You have to be careful because they're easy to scratch or dig in if you're not on your angles.

Has this manix been shipped out yet?
Not sure, but all the distributers are still saying coming soon. Not that I keep checking or anything like that...

Wanted to echo what Sal said, there is a ton of great information in this thread, even some stuff about the Manix 15v too.

Hey Shawn,

FYI, the BBB CPM-15V Manix CATRA tested up there with the best of them.

I just received my sample so it's my carry today.

Can’t wait to get one.

Is there a best place to buy it or any authorized reseller fine? Does anyone know if a date of release will be published or it will just randomly come in stock?

Thanks

Any retailer with inventory that's in stock. Sprint runs are not "revealed" like the Mule Team project, or Dealer Exclusive knives. You just have to wait until they trickle in stock and hope the stars align when the time comes (especially on a model as hyped as this has been; at least here on this forum).

How good would this look all blacked out?

Apologies as I did this Photoshop quickly, but should give you a general idea.

blacked out would be irresistible, but so is stonewash. i'm not sure which i'd prefer, but probably stonewash since dlc is already more available.

I would like to see the actual collaboration between Shawn and Spyderco become available before another Manix 2 sprint iteration.

A DLC version would look exactly like this, save for a few different laser-engraved letters for the blade steel (no Photoshop required! ;)).

Awesome, thank you for the information, I have never tried to get a spirit run like this. Now if we only knew someone on this forum who might have some inside information… 😁

I think I have an issue. I said to myself that I wouldn't buy any knife (any Spyderco, but for me it's the same as any knife) until I get my hands on the 15V Manix 2.

I found like 4 US dealers already listing it, so that I can bookmark the pages.
Then, even if I know that it's certainly not coming this month, I still open all of these bookmarks at least 4 to 5 times a day.

The worst in all of that, is that I register for e-mail notification when it becomes available :squinting-tongue :squinting-tongue
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Don’t worry I am doing the same thing. Now I am resisting putting my number for SMS notifications but I hate going out my number.
