Para 3 in S110V. Going to replace the blurple scales with some canvas micarta scales, like this from blades we love:
The first time I saw a Spyderco was the early 90s at a knife shop in a mall. I can still see the SpydieHoles through that glass display cabinet. My parents wouldn't buy any of them for me... so now I buy them all. :spyder:

Street Beat. Always wanted one. Hummed and hawed for years, then the 2018 discontinued list forced my hand. Looked at the TI Millie as well, but ultimately decided I had enough S30V Millie's.

Good choice. The micarta scales are very nice on that version.KingRat wrote:Street Beat. Always wanted one. Hummed and hawed for years, then the 2018 discontinued list forced my hand. Looked at the TI Millie as well, but ultimately decided I had enough S30V Millie's.
Speaking of the 2018 list, I grabbed a back-up serrated Tasman Salt with black handle. Unless the Spyderhawk gets another run I don't see the Tasman getting replaced. Saw Newgraham had a SE black left, and waited for them to knock the price down.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

For the first time in 15 years: nothing!
Actually drastically reducing the collection by 100 knives, after taking stock of things.

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I did the same thing back towards 2011. I think I was up to the 150's, with stuff like the Phoenix, Pikal, C95 Manix x3, Spyderhawks, Lum sprints, ATR, Lil Temp x2, ZDP189 Caly 3 and Caly jr, ZDP189/CF Stretch, Forester, black Yojimbo 1, tip up wire clip Para 1, CF/S90V liner lock Millie, BG42/CF Millie, 2x blue Dodos, jigged bone micro-dyad, 2x black G10 UKPK's and 2x foliage green G10........then ended up down to a Police 3, Tasman Salt, Para 2, Pacific Salt, Spin, and two Aqua Salts.
Picked up a few since then, but I'm much more selective about what I get now. I try to only buy things I have a clear use in mind for rather than trying a design for the sake of trying it. What's been getting me is the urge for pre-need replacements when they announce a favorite is discontinued (Pacific Salt 1, Tasman Salt 1, Police 3 etc.)
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
New member here, hi everyone!
Short version: I have a few on the way: A Para 3 combo blade, a Ladybug Tattoo, a Tasman Salt serrated, a UK Penknife combo blade, and a Tenacious with camo scales & black plain edge blade. The Para 3 will be for me, while the rest will be gifts (with more to come as I figure out what to get my friends).
Longer version:
I've never been much of a knife guy, but after one of my buddies got me a Leatherman Wave as a gift for being a groomsman in his wedding, I've come to appreciate the utility of a pocketable blade (among other tools).
Now that I'm next in line to get married, I wanted to get a similarly useful and memorable tool for my groomsmen. Some of my groomsmen are hunters & outdoorsmen, while others don't participate in many outdoor activities but could still use a quality knife in their car or purse (one of my groomsmen is a woman - Groomsmaid?).
I figured I can get each of them a unique blade that suits their personality and lifestyle, while sharing the common thumbhole that makes Spyderco knives so recognizable.
I've never even handled a Spyderco, but based on everything I have read and heard about them, I'm confident that my groomsmen and I will be well served by the utility, quality, and craftsmanship of these tools. There's so much great information on this forum thanks to everyone's participation, and I hope that I can one day be as helpful as the rest of you. :)
