no problem. the larger sizes are more effective, but the credit card size is nice for the wallet and i’ve started fires with mine. you can get them at walmart for cheap or order them online. i ordered mine on amazon i think and have few backups to keep in different kits or to replace them as they get old and scratched up.

One of those sounds good for my wallet. It seems like a better alternative to the SAK magnifying glass. The only SAK I have with one is my Swisschamp, but I rarely carry it. It feels odd because that whole implement is made of plastic, but I guess that was the only practical way to make the magnifying glass for an SAK(?).ladybug93 wrote: no problem. the larger sizes are more effective, but the credit card size is nice for the wallet and i’ve started fires with mine. you can get them at walmart for cheap or order them online. i ordered mine on amazon i think and have few backups to keep in different kits or to replace them as they get old and scratched up.

I totally agree. Every SAK model should have scissors!Robbob wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 12:21 pmThe scissors alone are one of the best reasons to buy a SAK. I say X all the things.Doc Dan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 5:00 amLet's bombard Victorinox until they give us the Cadet X. It is a no-brainer.

I only have two, a tinker and hiker...neither have scissors and I've definitely had times I've wished for scissors!

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
I always carry a Vic Executive, which has small scissors (but still bigger than the scissors on the Classic-sized SAKs), along with a standard-sized SAK (my Pioneer). I prefer not to carry an SAK more than two layers thick. I always carry these two SAKs in separate pockets. So for me, I can always have SAK scissors, plus the standard important SAK functions, without having to carry one single SAK with an extra scissors layer that might feel like a block in my pocket.

I carry a Pioneer X in a pocket slip. I never notice the extra thickness this way.

Done! A Cadet X has been wanted for so long I am surprised it hasn't been made yet.Doc Dan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 5:00 amLet's bombard Victorinox until they give us the Cadet X. It is a no-brainer.

Then again, we have had the Pioneer X since 2016, and the Farmer X was introduced a few months ago, so a Cadet X may be in the works already

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
I have carried a SAK since the '60s. And I still do, not as my knife (I have carried some Spydie or two for that since 2010) but as a multitool.
Some time ago, I replaced the Spartan my wife had to surrender on a trip abroad years earlier. That replacement has been my multitool of choice for EDC until today.
I just wanted to declare here, in my general giddiness, that I'm carrying my new Compact in place of the Spartan, as of today. Everything I have come to need, and nothing I don't.
That is all. :)

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
My only SAK is a limited edition Alox Long Rancher I picked up 6 years ago. I love and use the sacking needle of this 93mm knife quite often. I carry a dedicated multitool in the form of the Leatherman Skeletool CX, but this SAK is now and will forever be one of my favorites.
For those aficionados of all things SAK, you know that the sacking needle is one of the rarest tools and most knives sporting this feature are priced well above the traditional retail.

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
Thank you. Love my MKIII 22/45. It's not as popular as the normal MKIII models, but I have loved every minute of shooting it for the last decade.

that's a great lineup of tools. i just hate how the alox is missing my two most used tools on the sak; tweezers and toothpick.
