Discontinued Redo Poll
Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I voted Ulize but honestly I would be interested in any of these.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Thanks JSumm assisting making the poll and benben starting the thread . If anyone has a complaint shoot me a PM to discuss why some models were not included . Ten models was the limit for the poll and I only worked off of the thread on benben’s which has been since October last year . I made my vote and thanks all participating. This is just part of the journey much more to do . MG2

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I'm not a huge lock snob and I'm usually fine with whatever. I'm not a backlock fanboy but the original Manix, Mini Manix, and even the linerless Manix2 backlock snap open with so much authority and really feel indestructible. The Manix is such a great ergonomic shape and the Manix 2 is the one knife where I wish it had a backlock. I do think the Manix LW shines with the CBBL but I'd love to see the g10 version go to the backlock and lose the weird/awful liner jimping.
That being said I voted superhawk as it's a model I don't own but really would like to. Especially if we could see it in k390 or Spy27.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Easily the Persian, but I'd be in for most of these. Really solid list!
Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I’d love to see another Air.
Stunning looking little knife but very practical too. I’d be highly interested in a re-release regardless of the materials.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Thanks to the few of you throwing this together to get the ball rolling.
I voted Air because it has so much of what I look for in folding knives at this moment in time. But this list is drippin' with classics, so I'd be quite happy to have a shot at most of these.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I voted Goddard Jr, BUT, please, no "simpleton" version like some re-issues has been. Real Micarta, PE please!

Maybe? Take the top 3 of this poll and do a final poll to see which one prevails

I chose a Superhawk from the poll though.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
The Air was a slow seller if I remember correctly, never thought it would be a popular choice on the forum for a redo. Owned it at least twice and just never connected with it. It was silly light (and small) though.

You guys are sleeping on the Ulize. I thought I knew y'all
Look at this beast.

It even has a ricasso and the handle isn't close enough to the edge and you all know how much I don't like that but it's still so cool.

I remember it the same way for the Air. Quite a few retailers just sitting on closeout stock that moved slow. I think that's how I ended up with one, deep sale pricing and figured I like M4 and wharnies so grabbed it. Flat ergos and shiny carbon wasn't my first choice to carry very often...

I'm with you on the Starmate BTW, always regretted selling that one. Felt like a less refined but more stout GB2. There is a undeniable charm to Terzuola knives. K390 and Gray G10 for me please.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 12:06 pmI remember it the same way for the Air. Quite a few retailers just sitting on closeout stock that moved slow. Seeing the recent reveal showing the new Slym model, it heavily reminded me of a ti framelock decorational version of a Starmate.abbazaba wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 12:11 pmI'm with you on the Starmate BTW, always regretted selling that one. K390 in that knife would be wild. Glad I still have my G10 Police K390, but a Starmate with that would be incredible, regardless of G10 color, but I do have an affinity for grey as well.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Bought the Air January of 2024 and passed it on in February. I really did not like the handle material. To me, it seemed like an "unfinished idea". The silver twill carbon fiber that we can find nowadays would be a good upgrade.
The other thing that made me sell it is the fact that the Baby Horn and Chaparral are thinner BTE, They beat it as my "classy folder" for events and stuff :)
That's why I'm going for the Rookie. I've been seing this knife, especially in the G10 sprint run, for years and wanting it !
PS : Worker and Persian are the ones coming right after it for me

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I am actually surprised the Air has as many votes as it does. It was my vote, but I like small Wharncliffe. I did not think it would be so popular.
The Persian is gaining it on it though. If it weren't for rumored future Schempp designs, I would have voted Persian. Especially if it keeps the bolsters.
I could see either of those getting some cool scale materials. I think either of those models deserve some upgraded scale materials to highlight the design. Whereas something like the Ulize would probably do great with gray G10 and Cruwear.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Ulize would be cool, had one for some time. The hollow grind is excellent ! I fear that a Cruwear sprint would lose that, though, like on the Massad Ayoob or Centofante III...JSumm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 12:44 pmI am actually surprised the Air has as many votes as it does. Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
I really love the hollow ground recurve blade of the Ulize. Adding it to the growing Grey G10 and Cruwear lineup would be a hit in my opinion.
Ultimately I think my vote is for more Ed Schempp designs. If that means starting with a Persian re-run, count me in.

Re: Discontinued Redo Poll
Only one option so I chose Air for now but the Rookie was right up there !
If I had an option to add another model I’d ask for the Walker - with Cruwear steel and polished G10 or polished micarta scales.
