Excited for the Rex 121 and return of burnt orange.
Yes, I do like too that this great handle color is making a comeback! (Though REX 121 is not really for me, would rather see more REX 45)
More thoughts on the new Reveal:
- Chaparral Slipit: Great that one of the best folders ever gets more variants! Obviously the non locking version has to miss the uber-amazing backlock . but other than that it brings all the great Chap features to those who don´t need or want a lock!
- Lack of SE: Sad to see the trend of only PE versions continuing. I completely get it from a sales point of view (SE appearantly did not sell as well as hoped for example in the K390 Spydies), but whenever a new Manix LW version comes out I hope that we will FINALLY see an SE variant of this model...
- Frame lock Tenacious: Very cool, love this model for its ergos and long cutting edge in a compact handle.
I am afraid though that "just" 8CR steel will not exactly help its sales...
- PD1 sprints: Not my favorite color scheme I guess, but still very cool!!
If I wasn´t that much into SE these days and had not already PE Enduras in VG10 and HAP40, I´d definitely try to snag an Endura!
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)
The Stretch 2 XL is about the perfect size knife.
K390 is about the perfect steel.
Bidirectional FRN is the perfect handle.
Its shape is beautiful.
The color is nice.
I've preordered it.
I'll pour a cup of coffee and go sit by the mailbox.
I think it's time to add a Techno to my collection
As much as I like the Sages I'm not sure I need another burnt orange knife or another Sage 5 LW or G10. We'll see how I feel when they become available
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Depending on the price point I do think I want one. I have a Para 3 and Native 5 in Maxamet and love the steel. I can only assume this is even better. I am leaning LW on this one, just seems perfect for this type of know and has a great look to it.
The K390 Stretch 2 XL seems like a ton of awesome knife for the money.
I need to know more about PD#1 and the durability of the coating since it’s not DLC but the new family looks pretty cool.
I was also hoping to see more 15v, like a Manix LW, but the is always the next reveal.

Endura AUS-8, Manix 2 S30V, Manix 2 LW MagnaCut, BBB 15V Manix 2, BBB 15V Para 3 LW, Alcyone BD1N, PM2 Micarta Cruwear, Native 5 Maxamet (2nd), Para 3 Maxamet (2nd), Magnacut Mule, Z-Wear Mule, REC Para 3 10V Satin, Dragonfly Salt 2, GB2 M4, Pacific Salt SE H2, Dragon Fly SE H2, Endela K390 PE, Chaparral SE XHP, Shaman Micarta XHP, Bodacious SPY27, Manix 2 LW 15v, Sage 5 REX-121 LW.
Some cool new variants for sure. Definitely going to scoop up the R.I.L. Tenacious. However I was really hoping for a completely new model or two, not just variants of previous designs.
Make time for the important things in life, and learn to enjoy the little things more.
I have to say that I’m disappointed, and surprised, by the Techno 3. It looks way too much like the ZT 0456 for my tastes.
I've seen a few people say this, and I do see the ZT'ness of it. But remember its a production model of a knife designed by Marcin Slysz, so I guess you'll have to talk to him about it...
My only gripe that I've seen echoed is the 8Cr on the Tenacious. For the presumed higher price point that comes with full titanium it'd be nice to even have a steel of yesteryear like s30v, let alone any of the current heavy hitters currently in production across the industry.

The fixed blade Temperance in CPM CruWear is a must get. And the price point being listed on various sites is super do-able. Got to love affordable sprint runs. And the Stretch 2 XL in CTS-PD#1 (Cru-Wear) yup I’m going to get in trouble with the wife again.
Thank you Spyderco for the affordable Cru-Wear love it.
