My interesting oddities include...
The Serrations on the SE Ayoob are not perpendicular to the blade, they are tilted towards the handle by about 10*, plus a snaggletooth. Not a big deal overall.
The one I am marginally peeved about, though, is my 3 knives were just placed in a box, touching each other, with packing paper on the bottom and the bubble wrap sheaths were wadded up and stuffed on top. As in, the knives were not protected at all and were bouncing against each other the whole time in shipment. No damage occurred, but this is an unacceptable packing job regardless of the company or product. I understand there is a crush of orders, but I will happily wait another day for shipping if it means my purchase is appropriately packed (i mean, why was the knife even out of the bubble wrap to begin with?)
So the packaging job is the weirdest part of this sale. (an overwhelmed website and knife defects were expected. A very bad packing job was not)

This happened to me as well. A couple of the knives in my box worked their way out of the bubble padding too so the knives were just flailing around inside the box during transit. I think my Sage 1 took a couple nicks on the scales as a result, unless they were already there as the reason for it be a seconds.Spyderwebs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 11:56 amMy interesting oddities include...

this could either be a mistake or a substitution based on various factors. I previously got a PM3 in S45vn instead of the S30v model as a second. I think that's probably a strict upgrade, but an example of getting something I didn't order.Optimus Cultro wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 2:08 pmThe weird thing I received was the wrong knife. I ordered an ARK spyderedge. The paper work that came in the box says “ARK Black FRN SpyderEdge (Without Sheath) - SpyderEdge - …” I double checked the email order confirmation, it states SpyderEdge.
In your case, that is understandably disappointing in that you were specifically trying to get that one model.
Re: Seconds Sale Oddities - Receive anything weird to share? I did!
This may not qualify as an oddity, but it was unexpected. I ordered a DLC Millie for use in a scale/blade-swap project. I needed, and expected, a flawed post-CQI version, but what I got was an apparently pristine, flawless pre-CQI Millie that now has a tiny nick on the blade.
Maybe they're dumping NOS knives along with flawed ones. In any case, I now have a nice Military Model that I don't really need, and I'm pretty happy about it. Always good to have a few spares.

I did put a commentary asking for padding exactly for that reason. I don't know if the prepper had the time to do it (I live in France, it's not there yet). But last online seconds sale the knives bumped into each other in that big box while traveling thousand of miles. They came in with more defects because of the flight than anything else ^^.Spyderwebs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 11:56 amMy interesting oddities include...

I have stuff to handle that, but it's kinda disappointing if you're expecting something like, let's say a Paysan or Damasteel Urban

That’s not bad - an upgrade of sorts I for one like the S45 Steel!
