Also this is where I think that a fully serrated Recurve blade would really stand out with this type of cutting job. You can also put full SE Hawkbill blades in this discussion as well.

It's been my experience that full SE blades with "curve" can really stand out with this type of cutting chore. This is where a full SE version of the C-111 Captain model would really do well.
