Magna Mule Rodeo!

Re: Magna Mule Rodeo!
I am excited to have received my first Mule today. As with all of my Spyderco knives, the factory edge was plenty sharp.
My first test for the Mule was on cardboard. I cut up a few boxes with the same ease as I would my S30V Manix. I cut up 5 boxes in a seven minute period. The blade effortlessly cut through the boxes like they were thin sheets of paper. I did not notice any loss of edge (nor did I expect to at this point.) Afterwards I used a sponge with an abrasive side and some Dawn to clean the glue off of the blade. The finish did not scratch (I have scratched some finishes when cleaning with my abrasive sponges.)
One thing I would like to note for other Mule Newbies like myself: Prior to receiving the Mule I searched the forums to get an idea of the size of the Mule. I found comparisons to the Manix and PM2. When I held it in hand I realized that it is closest to the Tenacious. If I did not know what the Mule was and someone handed me a Mule and said "here is the Tenacious fixed blade" , I would have been inclined to believe them. With regards to the finish; I do not know if this is unique to the Mule or the steel but the finish is highly reflective and reminds me of the LC200N finish on the Native Salt. ' I will continue to use the Mule as my main knife at home and post updates when possible. I would like to try the steel on some fruits and vegetables and put that corrosion resistance to the test. I am glad to be part of this community and project.

Just one more knife...
Re: Magna Mule Rodeo!
Went digging in the garage and found some things to cut up other than cardboard. Some old dirty cotton rope should be fun. Pics and results coming this weekend most likely.

Rodeo weekend results:
Cut some rope up, it wasnt as dirty as I was hoping but I cut it up anyway. I cut a few boxes that knives came in as well in this sitting. I cut more boxes as well Saturday. It was not shaving like when I got done with the first sharpening. It was still making curls from receipt paper, though starting to get a bit fuzzy.
Sunday I went for a hike. I found lots of wood to hack, slice and in general be a bit careless on. I stabbed ice and had a good hike with my doggo. I got to wear shorts in December in Colorado.... After weekend edge report:
So after good hike I got home and checked my edge. No large damages but some VERY small chips that can only be seen with a loupe. I only found them as when cutting paper there is a spot that is much rougher than the rest. So I looked real close and found them in that area. I cant feel them, I cleaned the blade etc. I honestly was expecting a bit more than that the way I went at the tree limbs and stuff on that hike.
Still cuts cardboard no issues. I will go a bit longer with this edge then I plan on putting a new one on it to clean up that rough spot mainly. I expect that to be very easy to do. Then time for some kitchen work.
I also kinda want to send it to my friend that does lots of farm animal processing and lives in a humid/damp environment and see what it does for him. I have a feeling this steel might be perfect for him.
